Russian media show images supposedly of two U.S. citizens captured in Ukraine

June 17 (Reuters) - Russian media outlets on Friday broadcast images of what they said were two U.S. citizens captured while fighting for Ukraine, in what could be the first confirmation the duo had been taken prisoner.

The Izvestia newspaper showed a video clip of what it said was a brief interview with Andy Huynh, 27, of Hartselle, Alabama. The RT channel posted an image of a man it identified as Alexander Drueke, 39, of Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

I watched the video earlier on telegram, yep, that’s an American. Then head out driving, listening to talk radio on some Fox affiliated channel, news comes on and says Russia lies, so can’t be sure if Americans were captured. Unreal.

They are officially members of the Ukrainian Army regardless of where they came from. As with the previously captured Ukrainian Army soldiers from the U.K., any mistreatment by the Russians will be treated as a war crime.
