Environmental groups sue Biden to block 3,500 oil and gas drilling permits

A coalition of environmental groups this week sued the Biden administration in an effort to stop more than 3,500 permit applications from energy companies to drill for oil and gas on federal lands.

The groups argued the administration hasn’t considered the damage that climate-changing carbon dioxide emissions from drilling does to endangered species, and that permit approvals in Wyoming and New Mexico violated federal laws including the Endangered Species Act.

The lawsuit is the latest attempt by environmentalists to pressure the administration to halt new drilling permits. Earlier in his term, Biden sought to commit to his campaign promise to suspend new drilling on federal lands, but was thwarted after legal challenges from GOP-led states and the oil industry.

Oil and gas industry representatives said that multiple rounds of environmental analysis are conducted before an oil and gas permit on public land is issued, and that environmental groups have several opportunities to file suit during various stages of planning.

Kathleen Sgamma, president of the Western Energy Alliance, a trade group that represents the oil and gas industry, said the climate groups “will not be satisfied until federal oil and natural gas is shut down completely, yet that option is not supported by law.”

“They’re trying to use the courts to deny Americans energy and drive up prices because they can’t convince Congress to change the law,” Sgamma said in a statement. “Shutting down federal oil and natural gas does nothing to address climate change, but merely shifts the production to private lands or overseas.”

“The groups argued the administration hasn’t considered the damage that climate-changing carbon dioxide emissions from drilling does to endangered species,”

I would argue the tree huggers premise is invalid.

So does anyone really think these environmental groups have the money to pay armies of high priced lawyers because grandma saw a photo of a sad looking polar bear in her Good Housekeeping magazine, and sent them $10?

“The Center for Biological Diversity, WildEarth Guardians and the Western Environmental Law Center filed the lawsuit against the Bureau of Land Management in the District Court of Washington, D.C., on Wednesday.”

Of course the “Center for Biological Diversity” is involved with this.

The Endangered Species Act itself is unconstitutional.

They want the precedent and the Biden lawyers will take a dive because they want it too. I’m guessing Biden’s admin encouraged the suit so they can get it. Much of what they are doing is future proofing the ruin they have inflicted on domestic oil production. They are trying to make it impossible to fix the mess they have made.

And ANOTHER THING! CO2 is PLANT FOOD! Without it WE DIE (which I know would please Kaiser Klaus and his whack job assistant Devil Yuval Noah Harari very much…)

How do these environmentalists get so much money and influence to buy Biden? OH, I forgot... they are artists and visionaries. It’s a a coven or cauldron of new age idiots that want to remake America in their homespun $400 a T shirt image. Idiocy is handed down, like money, into well meaning stupid people who are stupidly rich. All they know is that they have a new exciting religion on their hands, and they are visionaries that what to crucify the common man.

The administration will enter a settlement agreement giving them everything they want and more which then gets entered as the court’s order so that the next administration can’t undo it with another executive order.

And then our currently marxist staffed federal government will grudgingly settle with these marxist environmental groups and American's will get screwed over yet again.

This method has been used extensively over several decades and is why we can't do so many “things” here anymore and must get most of our raw materials imported

The laws that these environmental groups use to throw up road blocks, contain provisions that the GOVERNMENT MUST PAY THEIR LEGAL FEES, win, loose or draw.
Eliminate this provision and this bullshit stops.
