Outdoor public events have been banned in an area of France as a record breaking heatwave sweeps across Europe.

Concerts and large public gatherings have been called off in the Gironde department around Bordeaux.

On Thursday, parts of France hit 40C earlier in the year than ever before, with temperatures expected to peak on Saturday.

Scientists say periods of intense heat are becoming more frequent and longer lasting as a result of global warming.

I remember a time in Texas, when it really got hot, like over 100, and we were all packed in to the Cotton Bowl for all day and night music festivals, the solution was to have the fire department spray the crowd with water hoses.

Whenever it’s hot, the enviro extreme crowd blames it on global warming. So I’m sure we will hear about it from those folks.

I haven’t heard anything about Greta Thunberg recently. I wonder what she’s up to.

Government the world over have become very comfortable banning this or that. And their people go right along with it.
WE ARE THE GOVERNMENT. NO YOU MAY NOT LEAVE YOUR HOMES.

"as a result of global warming?"

I thought it was called "climate change". Interesting how these communists change the meaning of things to support their agenda.

Of course. Blame it on Global warming because there is no political advantage to blame it on Putin I guess.

Well to that I have to say the other night I went on my deck at 9:00 and the temp was 83 with about the same humidity. That’s here in Western Pa. and I don’t recall it that hot nor thick that late in the evening.

I know, right? Because intense winter weather is also blamed on global warming/climate change. Any change in the weather is blamed on global warming.

I think it’s funny how the Weather Channel gives names to winter storms now, as if they are hurricanes.

Yep, it's Summer

In the Northwest normal summer weather still has not arrived. Today outside of Seattle we will have rain again and a high of 56F. I have been trying to finish the paint job on our house and it has not been going well because of rain nearly every day for months. Our temperatures have been down over 5 degrees compared to last year for the last several months.

We had a situation at the middle school I taught at about 20 years ago. We didn’t have AC and school didn’t finish up until late June. Temps really heated up and during a graduation rehearsal the kids started passing out. Like dominos they started dropping. Every local hospital had student. I got packed off in an ambulance with one of the kids to set up a liaison. Over 30 kids in that hospital ( btw, not one adult got ill) Well they got all the kids still in school and took them outside under the trees. The local fire department came and instead of spraying the water way over their heads to create an air conditioning affect, sprayed the water directly at them. Had to be one of the most memorable days of my teaching career of 32 years.

I think that is common in Western PA. Now if it happened in Seattle or Vancouver, I would be shocked. Cheers.

No. It’s “climate change” when it gets cold or snowy but in the summer it switches back.
I think they’re still waiting for me to forget that back in the late 80s they asserted snow was a thing of the past.

Max temperature there was in Bordeaux, 40C.
That’s 104 F, kind of pleasantly warm in Phoenix.
Most of the map was like 27-29 C. That’s not really hot even for Europe.

Scientists say...

An unbiased article would have said “some scientists say...”. Also, the statement is off topic.

I’ve always thought, but haven’t looked into it, that naming more and more storms has something to do with the insurance lobbyists. Property insurance covers different things depending on if he storm is “named”.
