With inflation now running seemingly out of control and trillion-dollar deficits being the new norm in Washington, Paul was back on the Senate floor Wednesday to offer another bill to balance the budget in five years. This time around, however, it would require cutting six cents for every budgetary dollar.
The proposal failed, 29–67.
"Washington's addiction to spending is hurting our economy and depleting our currency. Inflation is stealing every American's purchasing power and financial security," Paul said in a statement after the vote. "All this plan does is return to 2019 spending levels. If the federal government spent at 2019 levels this year, we would have a $388 billion surplus."

Romney? He sucks. Bad.
Tennessee did herr part. Both voted yea.
Still way short, but making progress.
Marsha Blackburn might be a good VP nominee.

I had fears for Hagerty but pleased to say I was proven wrong.
He seems to vote the right way a lot.
We still don’t know where these voter’s real ideas lie. That’s because they voted knowing the measure would fail. How would they have voted if they thought it was close?
She might be. A conservative with backbone. I like her!
Balanced Budget and Outlaw Pork Barrel spending
Yep, a lot of Bush League Republicans in that list that were just faking it because they knew it would fail.
It’s easy to vote yea when you know there’s no chance of winning. I’d bet money that if there was a majority in favor of it, that the usual suspects would vote against it.
Yep... But at least in FL, IA, ID, LA, ND, TN and WY; two senators felt the need to back it...even if it was just posturing. Makes you wonder about other so-called red states.
Forgot to include UT...
Why are we waiting for the organized crime-controlled (imo) Congress to police itself regarding a federal budget that is fully compliant with Congress's constitutional Article I, Section 8-limited powers?
"Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States." —Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.
"From the accepted doctrine that the United States is a government of delegated powers, it follows that those not expressly granted, or reasonably to be implied from such as are conferred, are reserved to the states, or to the people. To forestall any suggestion to the contrary, the Tenth Amendment was adopted. The same proposition, otherwise stated, is that powers not granted are prohibited [emphasis added]." —United States v. Butler, 1936.
The bottom line is that Trump's red tsunami of patriot voters need to work with their new, Trump-endorsed state lawmakers in 2023 to effectively secede all the states from the corrupt federal government by repealing the 16th and ill-conceived 17th Amendments.
In the meanwhile...
Trump's supporters are reminded that they must vote twice this election year. Your first vote is to primary career RINO incumbents. Your second vote is to replace outgoing Democrats and RINOs with Trump-endorsed patriot candidates.
Insights welcome.
Mitt is a complete a-hole with most things, but he’s always been consistent with the need to balance the budget.
The other 71 are either owned by China, are avowed Communists, or both.
So fake. If it had a chance of passing none of them would vote for it. Can’t vote for this and send Ukraine 40b
