The Russian energy giant said it was cutting supply volumes to Germany through the Nord Stream 1 pipeline by roughly another third, after an initial reduction on Tuesday.
Russian energy giant Gazprom said on Wednesday it would further reduce the capacity of gas supplies via the Nord Stream 1 pipeline to 67 million cubic meters (2,366 million cubic feet) per day.
The decision comes into effect at 01:30 a.m. Moscow time on Thursday (2230 UTC on Wednesday), Gazprom said, adding that the halt was due to the "technical condition of the engine" at a compression station.
The company had announced on Tuesday that it was curbing supplies through the same undersea pipeline to up to 100 million cubic meters per day, down from 167.
Gazprom initially blamed the delayed return of equipment that had been sent to German company Siemens for repairs.
On Tuesday, Siemens Energy said the delay in returning the equipment to Gazprom was because they were taken to Canada for a scheduled overhaul and have not been returned due to Ottawa's sanctions on Russia.

ROLFMAO!
Some pieces/parts of the sanctions will have to be curtailed...to get this ‘pump’ back into the system. The longer they argue about this....the bigger this mess will become in just four weeks. I should add...this occurs as politicians in the EU/particularly Germany...start their summer vacation business.
The Neocons and their puppet media won’t discuss the strengthening Ruble, but at this point Russia doesn’t need as much money from the West to finish up with their Special Military Operation in Ukraine...and the extra money now coming in is making the Ruble too strong. So, why not cut the flow a bit - after all, it will help Europe transition to Green Power and save the planet. LOL.
that’s what you call leverage!!!
The sanctions have backfired. The US and Europe are suffering more than is Russia. Don’t we have smart politicians??
Meanwhile...
“ROLFMAO!”
Here’s a question for you: Does this exceed the PURE STUPIDITY of inviting Sweden and Finland to join NATO without first checking with Turkey?
For me, it’s a close call.
“gazprom-germania-meets-contracts-despite-russian-sanctions-german-regulator-2022-06-10/”
That story didn’t age well (unless Gazprom-Germania has a way of pulling natural gas out of thin air).
There are no smart people left, only dolts.
Sweden and Finland weren’t “invited” to join NATO
they made the request to join each on their own
Why? because they finally realized that their neighbor, Russia, is a murderous invading monster that can’t be trusted
common sense, really!
Now tell me how is it going to improve their security, and more importantly, the NATO security. Even if they get in (see Turkey).
Meanwhile, Russia has inked a deal with Nicaragua for basing rights and Mexico is seeking to join the Russian-Chinese economic union.
It is not going to return back to normal. The sweet gas deal Germany had with Gazprom is now a deal between Gazprom’s subsidiary and Germany, the former nationalized by Germany. If they want gas, they’d pay the spot market price which is five times more, and going to be much more with every week the compressor is off-line.
Well they see being a part of a defensive group as an advantage
that’s their choice, right?
Russia has clearly shown it is a menace that can’t be trusted, so it’s neighbors are taking appropriate protective steps
you’d do the same thing if you had a dangerous menace as a neighbor
Now tell us how great Turdeau is!
we’re talking about Russia, dumbass
I am not aware of any problems between Russia and the above countries over the last decades. It is worth mentioning that Finland owed its prosperity to the Russian trade since WWII. About 80% of their businesses worked for the Russian market, about 25% had most of their business with Russia.
Russia can’t be trusted ... period
Sweden and Finland aren’t going to wait to be invaded
and if you care to look carefully at past history, you WILL find Russia causing a lot of problems with its other neighbors
so the warning is clear
Tell me who can be trusted? Russia doesn’t cause problems to neighbors who don’t cause her troubles.
No, we are talking about a dumba55 Canadian neocon who, if he is stupid enough to buy WEF propaganda, is dumb enough to love Turdeau.
Also, shouldn't you be commenting en français? Le québec gouverne tout le Canada, non?
