Push from the GOP’s right flank defeats SC House incumbents

South Carolina legislators losing their re-election bids include a Republican chairwoman and former budget chief pummeled by allegations the GOP-dominated House isn’t conservative enough.

Education Chairwoman Rita Allison and Rep. Brian White — the chamber’s former Ways and Means chairman — were among seven House incumbents ousted by the June 14 primaries, a significant replacement of numbers.

White, an Anderson Republican, said he fears ginned-up rancor over national politics is turning the General Assembly, where members have prided themselves on the ability to disagree agreeably, as polarized as Washington.

“They’re just angry,” he said of voters. “They’re mad at government. They’re mad at Washington. They’re mad about spending. Everybody’s just mad.”

Voters often don’t distinguish between Congress and the Legislature, and GOP operatives who capitalize on that in mudslinging primaries are, ironically, transforming the Statehouse into what voters don’t want, said White, who first won his seat in 2000.

The defeat of Allison, a 24-year Upstate incumbent, was particularly stunning to colleagues.

“The chamber lost a true public servant,” said Rep. Raye Felder, R-Fort Mill, who leads the K-12 education subcommittee.

More spin from the lefty hefty pefty cinch sacks of the DNC.

They cannot stand the fact that the lefts requirement that all Republicans be “bi-partisan” is now being ignored by the elctorate, and that an abandoned “collegiality” is abandoned in order to convert the Republican Party into the fighting machine it needs to be.

The rumble of the Red Tsunami on the horizon? Don’t worry you lefties...you won’t feel a thing.

Unfortunately, Graham won re-election during the 2020 Election Theft. He’s “safe” until 2026.

Article—”true public servant”

True public servants serve for a few years and then go home.

Kleptocrats stick around until they die.

They just don’t get it, do they? Yes we are mad! Yes, we want change! These people who get elected over and over again but nothing gets done or solved think they own their seat and they don’t understand why anyone would like it any other way.

K-12 is a disaster, maybe Felder should be next.

Whenever long-term incumbents are thrown out of office, it is a good day for the Republic.

Damned right we're mad. And I use "damned" advisedly-- the US government has been taken over by demonic (damned) forces.
