Russia on brink of humiliation - Ukraine 'within striking distance' of Crimea water supply
EXPRESS ^ | Russia on brink of humiliation - Ukraine 'within striking distance' of Crimea water supply | CLAIRE ANDERSON

Ukraine has made significant advances close to Kherson to the point of controlling the water supply in Crimea. Professor Michael Clarke, who specialises in defence studies, explained Ukraine is within striking distance of the supply. Speaking to Sky News, he said: "The Ukrainians are conducting quite a big offensive to take back Kherson. "They've opened up a 50-mile front to the northeast of Kherson and there are reports over the last 24 hours that the Ukrainians may have got as far as Kiselivka which is quite close to Kherson.

"They may be within striking distance of Nova Kakhovk which is a dam which controls the water supply in Crimea.

"Ukraine would love to retake that and be back in control of that supply.

"We're keeping a very close eye on those two areas because that battle is so far developing in Ukraine's favour as the days go on."

The amount of fantasizing here is amazing. Tokyo Rose was more grounded in reality circa June 1945. They are in Baghdad Bob territory with their fantasizing.

Well said, my Friend. Sometimes I wonder about the posters on this site that write before having full intelligence/information.

The purposes for agriculture is a multi year matter. I seem to remember that when Russia (annually?) threatened to cut off gas supplies to Ukraine in the winters, that Ukraine countered with threats to cut off the water.

Las time I looked, Kherson is still located in Ukraine, AND has its sovereignty exercised over the water with it.

P.S. Water rights is always a ripe area (pardon the pun related to riparian rights) for those living in Oklahoma and/or North Texas where the state’s boundary (and hence the controlling state law and tax base) is divided by the ever changing Red River. SCOTUS frequently makes decisions about the changing of the stream, and rights to the water.

BB was better at it as well. If he had the British media on his side, people would be thinking that Iraq won and hanged GWB.

LOL. There is a little issue with your point. Ukraine indeed blocked water in 2014, Russia is still pumping them gas.

My point is, if Ukraine destroys water supplies in the Crimea, it would be very easy for the Russians to destroy water supplies in the Ukraine in retaliation.

Your statement contains an untruth, therefore your conclusion is flawed.

Kherson is not located in the Crimea. The Crimea is dependent upon water from outside the Crimea.

The stop of pumping that water is not putting people into thirst. It is stopping the enemy from having agriculture in their occupied territories.

Please note that Kherson is located outside of the Crimea. It supplies water to the Crimea. The Russians recently captured it. The Ukrainians want to now re-capture it.

A belligerent (Ukraine) is under no obligation - moral, legal, or otherwise - to supply its adversary (Russia) with needed resources (excepting in humanitarian cases).

“The Russians recently captured it. The Ukrainians want to now re-capture it.”

As they say, “In hell, they want ice water.”

The recent incursion by the UAF into Kherson Oblast was totally destroyed. That is reality.

Not first of them. Ze is in conflict with the military command over these idiotic last stands and “offensives”. Although you can bet who owns the media and it is the military leaders to blame.

The US has a long history of an isolationist tendency. Isolationism is a reasonable position for a country separated from its potential military rivals.
It is possible many, or most, or all of the posters who either support Russia’s positions are just Americans who either don’t care about Ukraine or who somehow see Russia as an ally.
It is also possible that some of these posters are Russians themselves. I’d guess many freepers have weak passwords and that over the years a number have either died or just decided to stop posting. I can easily imagine that Russia has propaganda groups looking to take over just such accounts.
Arguing with paid Russian propagandists, if they exist as I suspect so do, is beyond futile.

You continually live in the past, my friend. Do you have any intelligence (after 2014)?

I think you have none. Maybe even noe in 2014?

The next big shoe to fall in American domestic politics will happen with the surrender of the Severodonetsk chemical plant. An estimated 600 foreign fighters are among the 2,000 or so who were pushed into that insane counter-offensive, and now they are trapped. It’s certain there are at least dozens of Americans among the trapped. They could face the death penalty. This is going to be big.

This is what I consider a reality check:

They just announced they have successfully repaired all the road and rail for their now completed land bridge from Russia to Crimea and have now protected it with layered air cover. They expect it to significantly increase their mobility and supply logistics.

Though apparently they have been doing surprisingly well without it.

The level of real irretrievable losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has crossed all critical levels so much that the office of President Zelensky is forced to spend about €3.5 million daily to disavow these shocks among the population and the European audience.

€2 million goes to Euronews and smaller European media from Germany, France, Italy and Poland, €1 million goes to LOM and TG channels from the Baltics, the near-political establishment of Ukraine and the CIS countries, the rest is distributed to premiums and bonuses for functionaries of the 95th quarter.

According to MI6 data, which were handed over to the European Commissioners and European deputies, the losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine amount to 176,000 killed and 41,000 seriously wounded on June 1, 22, without the possibility of returning to the theater, about 38,000 are considered missing.

According to the BND and the Polish intelligence services, which were shown at a closed briefing before the NATO summit, Ukraine’s losses in killed on the battlefield, plus the accompanying losses of civilians, exceeded 210 thousand people by 06/10/22.

According to NATO experts, as well as on the analysis of the NSA, which monitor social networks and special groups of mothers-wives-native Ukrainian soldiers, the losses range from 110 thousand to 197 thousand people, where the proportion of dead and missing is 45% to 55%.

The loss of military equipment and ammunition, as well as new types of weapons and unmanned aircraft, is 73%, and the shortage of fuel and lubricants has grown to 58% among BTGs on the front line of the line of contact.

According to Nezygar about the losses of Ukraine, everything is 100% correct, even the dates, and the most interesting thing is that Ursula von der Leyen knew about this when she came to Kiev. Zelensky told her that he would consider the figure of 400-450 thousand people to be critical, and this will happen at the current level of losses no earlier than March 2023.

The BND and the NATO Ground Forces Command believe that by August 1, the level of losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will be more than 268,000, and the front line will pass through the Nikolaev and Kharkov regions, and this is without taking into account a possible strike by Belarusian forces from the north. If Lukashenka’s army is connected, the supply of theater of operations on the right side of the Dnieper will drop by 90-95%, moreover, the delivery of fuel and lubricants will become impossible for the civilian population and the harvesting campaign.

The UAF defensive strategy has been insane. It’s almost as if they intentionally fed their best troops into suicidal meat grinders, into cauldron after cauldron.

Arestovich is not happy with the volumes and terms of military assistance from the West announced after the Ramstein meeting.

“The pace promised in Ramstein is less than we expected. And the most unpleasant thing is that this help will arrive only in August, and this pushes back our Napoleonic plans for a counteroffensive, ”Arestovich said in an interview with Feigin.

According to him, 18 MLRS will be transferred to Ukraine by NATO countries.

“This is a division, plus about the same number of another type. This is enough to make it very unpleasant for the Russians, but still far from our real needs,” Arestovich said.

Our source in the OP said that there was a huge scandal at the Bank due to Arakhamia’s interview with the American edition AXIOS.com . The Office of the President is already preparing a rebuttal, and David must declare that his words were not understood correctly!

Bankova believes that the title and the first paragraph of the article is a sentence for Ukraine, and now we urgently need to shift the focus from the publication.

That I have seen. People have pointed out old accounts that didn’t post for many years and suddenly came back with a firm belief in Russian propaganda.
