Howdy, luvie.

I’ll bet you’re relieved to have running water again. Kudos to those guys doing the repairs so quickly!

They worked all night and had teams from other towns in to help out. It was a relief to be able to clean those toilets, that’s for sure. Rain water is good for plants, but kinda full of icky stuff.

We still have a boil water notice....unless that’s changed in the last couple of hours. They said we could shower, but I think I’ll just wait till the water is disinfected and chlorinated, thank you very much. LOL

Just found the latest update: UPDATE 12:30 PM:

Odessa City Manager Michael Marrero tells CBS7 he expects all citizens of Odessa to have moderate pressure by end of the day today

After normal pressure is returned they will begin a 24-hour period of testing water samples for bacteria, etc. Crews are hoping to test the water Thursday morning after the plant recharges. It takes about 24 hours to get test results back to ensure the water is safe and free from harmful bacteria.

Once the water samples pass all testing the boil water notice will be lifted.

Marrero adds the water is safe for watering plants and showering, but when washing hands be cautious. No consumption or cooking without boiling.

Lower Odessa will get normal pressure faster than upper Odessa. This will be true until maximum pressure is returned

Recharging the towers will help with gaining pressure back. Residents are asked to hold off/ be sparing with usage.

Repairs were finished last night. Today workers are making final adjustments, then they will fill the hole and repave.

Even as the city starts to get under pressure, it will be easier to recharge if people are sparing.

Bottled water is recommended to wash hands when preparing food.
