I think this is the crux of it. The chair said they will not refer anyone to DOJ.
The media doesn’t like that he said that because the few who do watch will probably no longer tune in as this whole thing looks like the political theater it really is and not to be taken seriously.

Also, Congress typically only makes a referral to the DOJ for actions that defy it specifically, such as lying to Congress.
For ordinary crimes, such as inciting to riot, or even sedition, a ‘referral’ to the DOJ from Congress carries the same weight as any other citizen offering what he thinks might be evidence of a crime.
The lynch mob has no ‘evidence’ the FBI/DOJ doesn’t already have.

show trial that would be a true Justice problem.

But Schmentric Garland could. But he is vulnerable
to being blackmailed by Republicans like Bill
Barr was by becoming an impeachment target.
Garland is very likely to be impeached for not
protecting Justice Kavanaugh per the law.
And with a Republican congress next year
Garland , Biden et al are going to be impeached.
No they will not. They’ll have to turn their evident over to the defendants. Then their lies will be exposed.
