Their old Kenmore sewing machines are still running like new with just a bit of lubricant.
I know, I service them along with the fancy new computers that sew.
The old metal machines will still be around long after the plastic fancy things are gone.
I wish you were near me. I have two of the old workhorse ‘metal ones’ that probably need a check-up. It’s hard to find sewing machine repair guys now - there used to be one in or very near every neighborhood.
(Same goes for vacuum cleaner repair. I had a little one that lasted me about 30 years, with one repair.)
