Biden won this district by 4 points.
Was she able to clear the 50% threshold?
Gonzalez will probably be a much more formidable opponent. He is the incumbent from a different district and he has a track record as a moderate.
If the David Sanchez she beat tonight is the judge from Cameron County, I’ve had a case with him as a visiting judge and he was not very impressive.
Plus he was accused of taking a bribe from drug traffickers while he was a special prosecutor, although I don’t know if he was actually prosecuted. Typical Valley judge who is dug in like a tick in local politics but doesn’t have what it takes to go any farther.
Last I saw, she had a little over 50%. Hopefully that sticks.
Republicans flip U.S. House seat in South Texas, historically a Democratic stronghold
Mayra Flores, a Republican, won a special election to fill the unexpired term of Democrat U.S. Rep. Filemon Vela.

Understood. But she’s now up against a moderate and the district is different. Obviously I hope Mayra wins big, but last night was a temporary victory. Now the real test begins.
Another tough night for the Surrender Monkey Caucus. Flores wins, Rice gets his ash kicked and bad news for you everywhere BUT HEY! Nancy Mace won!!
And this in your pessimistic minds, means Trump endorsement magic is over and done for. Dream on and keep talking about how Dominion is going to steal the November election for the rodents, it will be like a piece of ice on you lips.
I’m feelin’ a good vibration. She’s giving me excitation.
Fantastic post!
A couple of mouth breather doomers at work today were yapping about Mace winning. One said that “the machines” probably got her over 50%.
Re: a note that these chuckle heads believe that President Trump was to be sworn in as the 19th President of the United States. So industrial strength stupid in addition to being doomers.
