Usama Abdulghani, an Iran-educated Shi’ite Islamic scholar based in Dearborn, Michigan, said in a lecture delivered at the Hadi Institute Youth Community Center in commemoration of Ayatollah Khomeini that Muslims should have the goal of establishing Islam’s supremacy, and not just having a “seat at the table” or stopping Islamophobia….
Usama Abdulghani: “Islam teaches us that Islam is supreme. The supremacy of Islam, not that we want a seat at the table, not that our whole hope is to stop Islamophobia so that we can just be treated like human beings, no, Islam is supreme.

Some of you are younger, you don’t remember the days before Imam Khomeini. What did Imam Khomeini do? How did he change history? What were we like before?

Oh, and a small query ... what makes for an "Islamic Scholar"? What credentials does this person have? Would he be accepted to speak as a 'scholar' in such places as the Cairo University (Sunni) or the like?

Sheesh. His words sound like incitement. Aren’t there laws to prevent incitement of overthrow and insurrection? Oh right, those laws only apply to unarmed folks crawling around the Capitol building.
Meh. Meanwhile no one goes to mosque any more in Iran, and Iranian youth are particularly disenchanted with the Islam of their theocratic masters. The house church movement has exploded across Iran, with at least a million devout Christians now in the country. Depending on how you define it, it’s possible there are more devout Christians in Iran today than devout Muslims.
Politically, at some point the Islamic theocracy in Iran is going to crumble because as the older generation dies off they simply aren’t going to have enough replacements to hold power. If Israel or the Saudis or whomever can keep playing a delaying game sabotaging Iran’s nuclear weapons program, the inevitable political upheaval may solve the whole issue of nuclear proliferation spreading to Iran.
