I watched nearly every episode of Deadliest Catch, and all of was since then new rules in ‘06, and there is no doubt in my mind that it’s ten times as dangerous as construction.

Total number of deaths is not a measure of the danger. There are probably a thousand times as many construction workers as there are crab fishermen. Or more.

Well it would not have much of an audience if it was called "used to be deadly but now not so much catch".

Don't know what to tell you. There were a couple of articles about it and how the change in rules resulted in a lot less people dying.
