And there are about a thousand construction workers killed every year. Year in and year out.

It is sort of like anything else where the media wants to glam up the danger. With any job you are far more likely to die on the road to work then at work.

"how many jobs allow you to go armed and encourage the mind set that only you and your safety matters."

Every single job on that list encourages the mindset that your safety matters. What a silly comment for you to make.

Third row. 4th from the left.

I believe that’s Thomas Ryan Rousseau. He’s from Texas originally. He and his group once showed up at a pro life rally in DC. At the famed Unite The Right Rally in Charlottesville, Virginia (where some leftist got killed when a guy rammed his car into her). And now he shows up in Idaho. (I don’t yet know how many other rallies he attended nationwide, if any).

I hardly know of anyone, activist or not, to attend so many rallies in so many states unless they’re candidates for public office or getting paid to do so.

I don’t know if Rousseau is an actual, real life 9-5 badge wearing FBI agent (doubtful). But cursory google searches on him makes me much more inclined to suspect he’s a willing puppet for the feds who pay and direct him to attend all these rallies and cause trouble in order to entrap people as well as destroy the public images and reputations of various right wing people and groups who are law abiding and are not racist, white supremacists.

Don’t forget, the FBI used to resort to these to these types of tactics against left wing groups such as the black panthers and various anti-war organizations back in the 1960s and 70s. So, the feds are old hat at this.

Being a cop is number 22 on the list of most dangerous jobs. Just a fact.

Indeed. Nowhere near even the top ten, but they want us to worship them for it.

If you want to work in an actually dangerous job, try being a commercial fisherman.

They should have armed the parents at the schools and sent them in.

In 2020 the leftist rioted from coast to coast, burning cities, looting, killing etc, which was all but ignored by the media, cops and city leaders, but in this case conspiracy to riot makes front page news and the cops come out in force.

Doesn’t that just drive you nuts!? And the press mischaracterizing all the 2020 destruction as “mostly peaceful.” How do you destroy over $2 billion of property and take 125 lives in a “mostly peaceful” series of riots?

It’s a lot like the drag queen groomers telling stories to preschool kids is NOT a hate crime, but peacefully protesting those perverts grooming our tiny tykes IS a hate crime. In a sane world, Child Protective Services would have those bastards behind bars for a long time for preying on little children.

I doubt if the CDC wants to "glam up" the damage.

Commercial Fishing Fatality Summary Alaska Region PDF

Also ...

Alaskan king crab fishing

Alaskan crab fishing is very dangerous, and the fatality rate among the fishermen is about 80 times the fatality rate of the average worker. It is suggested that, on average, one crab fisherman dies weekly during the seasons.

Statistically, Alaskan crab fishing remains the most dangerous job in the United States. In 2006, the Bureau of Labor Statistics ranked commercial fishing as the occupation with the highest fatality rate, with 141.7 per 100,000 per year, almost 75% higher than the rate for pilots, flight engineers, and loggers, the next-most hazardous occupations. Alaskan crab fishing, though, is specifically even more dangerous, with over 300 fatalities per 100,000 per year.

Most of the drop in fatalities after the 2006 is probably due to the extreme decrease in the number of vessels operating.

(From same link as above)

The rationalization process (end of Derby fishing in 2005) put many crews out of work, as the owners of many small boats found their assigned quotas too small to meet operating expenses; during the first season run under the IFQ system, the fleet shrank from over 250 boats to around 89 mostly larger boats with high quotas.

The idea that the crab have increased is also false.

Alaskan king crab fishing

In 1980, at the peak of the king crab industry, Alaskan fisheries produced up to 200,000,000 pounds (91,000,000 kg) of crab. However, by 1983, the total size of the catch had dropped by up to 90% in some places. ... As a result, the current season is very short and in the 2010 season, only 24,000,000 pounds (11,000,000 kg) of red king crab were landed.

That covers 1980 to 2010 but by 2021 the crab population crashed ...

Alaska snow crab harvest slashed by nearly 90% after population crash in a warming Bering Sea 2021

The Alaska Department of Fish and Game set the 2022 snow crab harvest at the lowest level in more than 40 years, a move to protect populations that appear to have crashed during a period of higher temperatures in the Bering Sea.

The snow crab is a mainstay of the Alaska crab boat fleet — much of it based in Washington — and the 2021-22 catch limit of 5.6 million pounds, announced Friday, is down 88% from the previous season.

The 2021 fall harvest of Bristol Bay red king crab, another important source of revenue for that fleet, was canceled for this year because of too few females.

... Also on Friday, the state set a quota of 1.1 million pounds for Bering Sea bairdi crab, down 53% from the previous season.

But you read a couple of articles so ...

I see there is no telling you any different. You have read Wikipedia, certainly the most trusted name on the Internet.

The majority of fatalities (82%) occurred in nine Alaskan fleets (Figure 3). The salmon fishery experienced the highest number of fatalities with 20 deaths. Eight crewmembers died during vessel disasters, of which five were in the setnet fleet. An additional eight salmon fishermen died after falling overboard, distributed among drift gillnet, setnet, seine, and troll fleets. The pot cod fleet lost six crewmembers, mostly to vessel disasters and falls overboard. The clam fleet experienced five deaths from a single skiff capsizing. In the dive harvest fleet, three cucumber harvesters perished while diving.

I don't see anything about "Crab" there do you?

Looks like mostly it was Salmon.

Wikipedia shows its sources and they are solid for this article. Pretty pathetic to argue from authority when all you’ve claimed is “I read a couple of articles.”

I guess you missed this ... Alaskan crab fishing, though, is specifically even more dangerous, with over 300 fatalities per 100,000 per year. and didn't bother to read anything other than small parts from the first link.

Wow. You must really be a fan.

I am. I told you that. Watched nearly every show for all of the first sixteen years plus most of the spinoffs shows which are mostly interview type programs.

Hundreds of hours of watching what they do, listening to them talk about the Derby Days in comparison to the post-Derby Days, talking about the dangers and comparing that with my hundreds of hours of working construction is all I've got to go on.

I need to read "a couple of articles" on the internet.
