“Obviously, the 5.9 we received in January is insufficient measured against the present inflation rate. Groceries and gas prices are killing us seniors.”
Don’t forget the 14.5% increase in Medicare Part B that they automatically deducted from the SSA at the same time.
And we thought Medicare would free us from doctor/hospital bills.
lol... and don't forget the free $150+ quarterly dollars you can order from CVS for band-aides aspirin and other OTC stuff ....
I called Medicare to have that put into my check..and the girl literally laughed at me...She said..Use it or lose it..so I asked her for a date...but she hasn't got back to me yet.....I'm guessing she rather busy with all us Senior citizens..... /s
And to clarify,
Social Security does not pay for Medicare, but if you receive Social Security payments, your Part B premiums can be deducted from your check.
If you have higher income, you’ll pay an additional premium amount for Medicare Part B and Medicare prescription drug coverage...If we determine you’re a higher-income beneficiary, you’ll pay a larger percentage of the total cost of Part B based on the income you normally report to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). You’ll pay monthly Part B premiums equal to 35, 50, 65, 80, or 85% of the total cost, depending on what you report to the IRS. - https://www.ssa.gov/benefits/medicare/medicare-premiums.html
