In early May, 27-year-old Hayley Furmaniuk felt tired and a bit congested, but after rapid-testing negative for the coronavirus two days in a row, she dined indoors with friends. The next morning, her symptoms worsened. Knowing her parents were driving in for Mother’s Day, she tested again—and saw a very bright positive. Which meant three not-so-great things: She needed to cancel with her parents; she had likely exposed her friends; a test had apparently taken three days to register what her vaccinated body had already figured out.
Tests are not and never have been perfect, but since around the rise of Omicron, the problem of delayed positivity has gained some prominence. In recent months, many people have logged strings of negatives—three, four, even five or more days in a row—early in their COVID-symptom course. “I think it’s become more common,” says Amesh Adalja, an infectious-disease physician at the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security.
No one can yet say how common these early negatives are, or who’s most at risk. But if SARS-CoV-2 is rewriting the early-infection playbook, “that makes it really scary,” says Susan Butler-Wu, a clinical microbiologist at USC’s Keck School of Medicine. “You can’t test and get a negative and actually know you’re negative.” Misleading negatives could hasten the spread of the virus; they could delay treatments premised on a positive test result. They also buck the current COVID dogma: Test as soon as you feel sick. The few days around the start of symptoms are supposed to be when the virus inside you is most detectable and transmissible; we built an entire edifice of testing and isolation on that foundation.

this isn’t super new news,
it is known that it covid can sometimes take a week to test positive
“I know people who have tested positive 3 separate times and have been slightly ill from “covid” - after being triple-vaxed.”
The vaccine doesn’t prevent you from getting infected. It helps your body fight the infection.
Masks? We wore clip on shields (attach to glasses) 99% of the time during the shamdemic. Visited lots of places so exposure was there. No vaxxes, no boosters, no contracting CONvid. Only place we masked up was med facility based on their rules. My throw away mask? Same one since the beginning. We remain “NON GMO”.
That seems to be the generally promoted narrative, but for how long, with what effectiveness against rapidly evolving variants, and with what side effects?
Again, TPTB have us chasing covid ghosts
A relative of mine was very sick over the Memorial Day holiday - prior to & after. Respiratory with incessant coughing, felt like crap for days. GI symptoms, too. Kept testing, negative 3 times. Her doc said even with the negative tests, he thought it was a “variant”. She’s vaxed & boosted, had COVID after that, now sick again. Totally resistant to any idea that there is negative efficacy associated with the vax & those who have the shots are more likely to get COVID again (plus other stuff) and in fact are the ones getting sick.
Thank you, but my question was whether you would or might be infectious, even in such a condition.
My guess from your answer would be, yes. It seems that the virus could be multiplying to the extent that you can pass it to others before your body has figured out how to fight it.
That is just a guess, though. I suppose it may be possible that there is no way the virus could have progressed to that level without some immune system reaction which would be detectable by the test.
My question is: Do these "medical professionals" ... these "experts" truly believe (and tell their sensitive patients) that if you simply wear a mask you not only protect yourself from the Fauci Flu, you also (even more ridiculous) protect everyone around you, why would they not allow a masked, non-symptomatic family member to have a few moments of time with their hospitalized loved one?
This is not difficult to understand: These "medical professionals" ... these "experts" know damn well that even a properly selected, properly applied, properly fit-tested, properly worn and properly maintained mask (which nearly 100 percent meet none of these essential conditions), even the much-touted N95 mask and certainly not a surgical mask, even if worn by a person trained in the use of personal protective equipment, will not ... it can not ... provide protection from a respiratory virus such as the Fauci Flu. It's a lie ... all lies.
Most people don’t know the tests, yes even the ones the government sends you for free, are made in China. How would you know if the Chinese were putting something bad on the tips of the swabs that you stick up your nose. People are just plain stupid sometimes.
Because not everything is Covid.
“Thank you, but my question was whether you would or might be infectious, even in such a condition.”
Thanks for rewording your question. To the above I would say it is possible but each situation is unique.
“Most people don’t know the tests, yes even the ones the government sends you for free, are made in China.”
The BinaxNOW tests that are sent out free are manufactured at Abbott facilities in Westbrook and Illinois.
The swabs though, are made in Thailand
“The swabs though, are made in Thailand”
Medical swabs are made in the U.S.
Uh…..it’s been known since the start that rapid antigen tests give false negatives for the first three days. This is already known, a feature not a bug. Even after that there is a percentage of false positives to be expected. clinical medicine isn’t an exact science.
Journalists are some of the stupidest, most ignorant subhumans around and the staff at the Atlantic are among the worst.
It helps your body fight infection for perhaps a few months at most after the shot. Efficacy declines rapidly. It also can create significant damage to your immune system thus worsening - not improving - your symptoms next time. And there WILL be a next time.
Is he testing with snot or spit?
Spit clears faster, usually within a day or two.
Snot can have traces for weeks.
Mrs.Slim and I had a mild case in mid-May. I thought it was seasonal allergies, but she had a bit of a cough too. She got a PCR test last Saturday and it came back positive although she was way past being symptomatic or contagious.
Says so right on package, recent change it seems. It didn’t say that months ago
At the height of the maskerbation addiction in many States (Pennsylvania and Ohio for sure) the mask mandates were explicit that those in restaurants MUST wear a mask INTO THE RESTROOM where of course that cloth will absorb all toilet odors and other zhit.
Let that sink in.
Then the patron MUST wear the zhit laden mask back into the restaurant so that with every exhale the patrons innocently eating pancakes can get a dose of the restroom zhit.
Let that sink in.
Gee, it’s like they were deliberatedly seeding the spread.
“You can’t test and get a negative and actually know you’re negative.” Misleading negatives could hasten the spread of the virus; they could delay treatments premised on a positive test result.
I see.
So we are dekcuF no mater what...
Nice betting while flip a double sided coin and constantly call “heads”...
You people really are moral failures co-conspirators in this global serial murder scheme...
