Forget Ukraine, coronavirus, corporate greed and “supply chain issues”, when it comes to inflation the climate crisis is the real, lasting, worry, according to a new book, and one that’s only likely to get worse.
Climatenomics, by former White House reporter and director of Environmental Entrepreneurs (E2) Bob Keefe, is a narrative account of how the climate crisis is fundamentally altering not just the US but global economies.
Within its pages, Keefe lays out what he sees as the false choice between creating jobs and driving economic growth and protecting the planet, and how “supply chain disruptions” has become a euphemism for the effects of climate change.
“I don’t think people have realized that climate change is an economic issue now because it’s always been seen as an environmental, health or social issue,” says Keefe. “The fact of the matter is climate change is battering our economy.”
Shifting the climate crisis from an environmental to an economic issue is at the heart of what Climatenomics presents. What’s required, says Keefe, is an effort similar in scale to the shift from the industrial to the information age to renewable energy and with it, provisions to counter climate change’s increasing disruption.
“What we do know is that the economic cost of climate change, both from weather disaster and commodities costs, is taking an increasing toll on economies,” says Keefe.
But if one of the major inflationary forces is climate, it’s also one that can’t be tackled simply by central bankers adjusting interest rates.

California and the west is experiencing extreme drought that has effectively dried up Lake Mead and Lake Powell. The summer is upon us and it is going to get worse. There will be water rationing and maybe electricity rationing.
The region is desert. The drought is reversion to the mean. The mean is extreme drought and the relatively wet last 75 to 100 years was anomaly

There is no “climate crisis”. There is however, a scheme to fleece the citizens of the world of all their money and possessions, in the name of a false god.
The brainwashing has evolved into religion, and the weak minded, of which there are many, have fallen for it.
Remove all spending by the U.S. government, done under the guise of climate b.s., and you could balance the budget today, there would be no inflation, and gasoline would probably be about $.75 per gallon.
....and Kalifornia is still dumping millions of gallons of precious fresh water into the ocean every day to (they think) protect a little fish. Utter madness.
The title is (sort of) correct. It the ignorant reaction to a fake Climate Crisis by stupid buffoons in government that is ‘battering the economy and driving inflation’.

Ex-Californian here. For many decades no additional water storage was built, and the about half the runoff from snow pack from the Sierras flows unused to the sea each and every year. Continual new building is pursued and encouraged, as is immigration. The extreme drought that California is experiencing is as much caused by political and ideological folly as by Mother Nature. So does the state document every year, when one goes looking for the data.

The Left has created a Crisis not the weather
First thing you have to ask yourself is.....who do you think is going to control the climate? No person or nation could possibly agree with others on that & so that is probably why it is really out of our hands. The best we can do is to try to work around climate variations as much as humanly possible...such as warm clothing & snow plows in the winter,utilization of A/C where it is hot in the summer. Guess what? We already do, so why waste the rest of what little we have left nowadays(thanks to the Biden administration) in trying to do something we almost assuredly cannot accomplish. It seems the “elites” are expecting everyone including those less fortunate in the world to spend all they have trying to accomplish something so a few can live more comfortably. What are the basic standards for this? I doubt that any two people could agree. I like it cooler, but not cold. Some like it hotter, but maybe less than 100 degrees. See what I mean?
