Here I’m confused, because I heard that Nancy Pelosi rejected various Republicans who McCarthy wanted to be on that committee. In any case, the liberal view is that it is bipartisan because of Liz Cheney, so any discussion of optics and such, is that this is bipartisan.
I agree. The Bulwark is not to be trusted. They are supposed conservatives who get support from Democrats.
I think McCarthy named several people, Pelosi rejected a couple of them, and McCarthy said that if he couldn’t have all his nominees on the committee then he wouldn’t have any. That’s why all the members, including the two RINOs, are Pelosi’s choices. McCarthy could have put some people on the committee, but he didn’t.
Pelosi banned Jim Banks and Jim Jordan from the committee.
The whole thing is a fraud.
Pelosi would accept only anti-Trump RINOs as members of the Committee. Rejecting committee members selected by the Minority Leader is a violation of the settled practice of Congress, with refusal to name alternative members being the Minority’s usual remedy. The tactic worked because, without effective, combative GOP members, the investigation and hearings lacked drama and have racked up dismal ratings. The January 6 Committee is a dud, losing out to reruns and home improvement shows on cable.
You are right. Jordan and McCarthy were rejected.
Once again, the media can’t get the facts straight.
No cross-examination.
I would bet a year’s salary that the violence was not perpetrated by our people.
