In January-April 2022, Germany increased imports from Russia by 60% and transferred almost EUR 6 billion to Moscow, despite the Russian aggression against Ukraine. The Ambassador of Ukraine to Germany Andrii Melnyk announced this on his Twitter account on Friday, June 10.

'It's crazy. Despite the Russian aggressive war, in January-April 2022, Germany increased imports from Russia by 60% (!) And transferred almost EUR 6 billion to Moscow. Trade between Ukraine and Germany fell by 11%," Melnyk said.

As proof, the Ambassador of Ukraine published an infographics of trade.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on June 7, the adviser to the head of the President's Office Oleksii Arestovych said that the five thousand helmets promised by Germany to Ukraine in January have not yet been delivered.

On May 29, a German edition reported that Germany had almost stopped supplying weapons to Ukraine.

On May 24, Polish President Andrzej Duda accused the German Federal Government of violating agreements on the exchange of tanks.

If Russia’s goal was to weaken NATO, Putin may be having some success.

Nope, it is the US war against Europe in the first place and Ukraine is an instrument of it. What Russia is? In terms of economy it is not a viable competitor to the US. Europe is the whole different matter.

Russia has been one of the top arms manufacturers in the world since WW2. They can fight this war for as long as it takes.

It's sad that so many neocons put their trust in Germany.

Nobody is as stupid as the people handling Dementia Joe. Except, they aren’t stupid; they are doing it on purpose.

It must be fun being a European member of NATO. America pays all the bills, doesn’t mind when club members ignore sanctions against Russia, and promises to fight to the last American if Russia ever attacks a club member.

“If Russia’s goal was to weaken NATO, Putin may be having some success.”

Seems more like the Western (Neocon) goal was to weaken NATO, for the benefit of Russia...and yes, quite a bit of success. Why else impose ‘suicide sanctions’ on themselves, when so many other options wee available (such as Keystone, drill-baby-drill, stop closing nukes and coal plants, etc.).

“Russia has been one of the top arms manufacturers in the world since WW2. They can fight this war for as long as it takes.”

And unlike the Pencil-Heads in the West, the Russians were wise enough to understand that relying on just-in-time production with minimal inventories is NOT a way to be prepared for war. Additionally they didn’t throw stuff out (again, because they put up with Pencil-Heads), so they still have thousands of 50 year old tanks, which are great for holding defensive lines (not so great for offensive operations...so they use newer ones for that).

I suspect when this is over, we might just figure out the same...but I’m probably dreaming.

Germany is working in their best interests. They will soon be importing all the fuel they need to run their industry's, and keep warm during the coming Winter. They also are increasing their defense spending.Who didn't see this coming. The landslide of the remainder of NATO countries will follow suit.
Unfortunately our current administration does not work in our best interests.

I just saw an article I’m too lazy to post that says Russia’s oil/gas revenues are up since the war started.

Making more money.
