They did send an almost never ending stream of young men into the teeth of German artillery during the Battle of Verdun. That’s about it.
They also fought a hopeless proxy war for us for years in Indochina as well; they had no interest in fighting it after WWII, but we paid them to do it - then withheld air support from Dien Bien Phu. It isn’t a coincidence that pictures of French soldiers in that war look exactly like US soldiers; we gave them the helmets, radios, planes, etc. - even an aircraft carrier - to fight it.
