MEMPHIS, TN (The Daily Memphian) — Former President Donald Trump has put the Memphis area on his “American Freedom” tour.
The June 18 stop is one of two day-long events listed on the tour’s website including another one in Austin, Texas. The details for Memphis stop say the exact location is to be determined.
“Build important relationships, help promote a conservative agenda and protect America’s future,” the details read.
The format for the event seems similar to Conservative Political Action Conference events the American Conservative Union has held in Memphis in recent years, featuring various conservative political figures.
A CPAC event in Orlando earlier this year featured Trump as well U.S. Senators Marsha Blackburn and Bill Hagerty of Tennessee.
The Memphis stop for Trump comes ahead of the August state and federal primary elections across Tennessee that include a re-election effort by Republican Gov. Bill Lee.
The slate of those appearing at the June 18 event lists Donald Trump Jr., commentator and author Candace Owens, former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, television personality and Trump adviser Kimberly Guilfoyle, political commentator Dinesh D’Souza and Pinal County, Arizona, Sheriff Mark Lamb.
Prices for the event range from a $9 seat in an overflow room to $2,995 for seating in a “presidential section” that includes a photo with Donald Trump Jr. and several private events during the day.
The website says the prices increase Friday.
Trump campaigned in Millington in February 2016 in the run-up to the March Tennessee presidential primary with a jet stop rally open to the public.
As president, Trump stumped in Southaven in October 2018 on behalf of Mississippi Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith.

I recently met one of the GOP folks looking to run against the vulnerable Representative. She was quite good...and she worked for DJT in DC.
The eastern suburbs of Memphis are very conservative, as are the Memphis suburbs in northern Mississippi.

Its multi-state, and heavily MAGA outside of the deteriorating urban enclaves.
