Senator: High prices didn't matter as I drove by gas station in my electric car Looking forward to nation not being 'dependent on the whims of the oil companies'

A Democratic senator who has been a politician since 1975 assured Americans on Tuesday that if they purchase an electric vehicle that cost more than many of them make in one year, they can laugh as they pass gas stations, as she did on the way to Washington.

Sen. Debbie Stabenow, D-Mich., was addressing the issue of record-high prices at the pump during a Senate hearing.

"I do just have to say, on the issue of gas prices, after waiting for a long time to have enough trips in this country to finally get my electric vehicle, I got it and I drove it from Michigan to here this last weekend and went by every single gas station and it didn’t matter how high it was," the senator said.

Sounds pretty good for the street. I’ll be doing some picking tonight but I think I’ll pass on the black skirt and striped leggings look. 🀣🎸 As for frank, he needs to go back to Argentina.

This would make a perfect ad for her opponent. The smugness and arrogance just drips off her.

She should have saved the pounds of fat she’s had liposuctioned through the years. She could have sold it to a fleet owner to power their vehicles. And those red lips! Looks like she’s been french kissed by a jackhammer (as if anyone would ever want to get close enough to plant one on her).

An interesting note is that I heard some democrat trying to justify a repeal of the 2nd amendment using the passage of the 17th amendment as a precedent.

So watch your back y’all.

One thing that never gets mentioned about the “electric car” debate is that once electric cars go mainsteam and more people have them, the price of electricity is going to go sky high...supply and demand.

Then, watch the Dems talk down the electric industry like they talk down big oil all while consumers are now paying more for the electric bills than they did for gas.

Then went home and just plugged it in so it couldn’t go anywhere else for a few hours. So convenient. Or went on a trip and had to plug it in at a highway station and waited there a few hours.

What all these libs forget about is the cost of transportation for pretty much ALL the goods we buy.

She drives to DC in an electric car. Goes out to a steak house. That steak was raised at a feed lot in flyover country. It was put on a truck to get to DC.

Or, more likely she sits down at a Vegan restaurant, but still not many farms in DC.

The wine she sips was produced over seas or in California. It took ag equipment to produce, trucks to transport, etc. Her desk, computer, pens, notebooks, clothes, iphones, etc, all produced in other countries or outside DC and transported via ship, train, barge, truck to her locality. All powered by fossil fuel.

The price of oil affects all aspects of life.

Like the morons in the federal government who think releasing petroleum from the SPR will lower gas prices. They aren’t even smart enough to know they need to buy a clue! πŸ™„πŸ™„πŸ™„πŸ™„

All big 3 are gearing up EV production. I can hardly wait for everyone to go on charge at the same moment. Talk about grid failure. 😨
