I think DeSantis give us a better chance of winning in 2024, and winning is my top priority. He gives us the MAGA policies, and the ability to get things done, without the sharp elbows and abrasive language. I don't mind Trumps style but many women and independents do, and we need more than the conservative base to win. The other thing about Trump that gives me pause. He was the victim of fraud in 2020, but he can't get over it. He will dwell on it when voters want our current problems to be addressed. The media know that and they will bate him - and he will take the bate every time. One more thing. He needs to check his ego and stop the vendettas against Republicans. When he recently said that he thought Abrahms as the future Gov of GA would be OK with him.......that was it for me. He should remember Reagan's 11th Amendment - Republican shall not speak ill of other Republicans. I voted for him twice and would do so if he gets the nomination. But I would like to see him step aside. I think people are a little tired of the drama.

Oak, your analysis is succinct and spot on.

Another consideration:

One reason Trump did well in 16 is that he was not Hillary. Many voters went for Trump because he was NOT Hillary.

The reverse happened in 20, many voters (I know some) just couldn't pull the lever for Trump. Unfortunately, it was personal, they hated his inability to act presidential. (I do not defend the reasoning, I merely report it. I voted for Trump.)

In 24, we can expect RINOs to run against Trump, they see this as their big chance. (Thinking Willard, Cheney, Kasich, Jeb and etc as possibles.) I also suspect they might not be above a third party megaloss, just to feel important.

DeSantis will have greater appeal to disaffected GOPers and Indies.

It was ONLY the Presidency, not anything really big...he should get over it. It's not like it will happen again or anything...

> without the sharp elbows and abrasive language.

This is why he won. He fought back.

The one nagging feeling I have about Trump is that he hires RINO backstabbers.

Any reason Desantis couldn’t be President in 2028 and 2032?

Trump shined the light on all the cockroaches, left and right.

Folks he thought supported him, sold him out so they could stay in the game Congress plays every election. They are not there to make life better for Americans like Trump was trying to do, they were there to make money for themselves on our tax dollars.

The blatant insider trading would have landed any of us in jail, fined, and ruined, but just another day at the office for these pukes.

As much as I like DeSantis, we need him leading Florida and the rest of the governors. Trump needs to take back control and finish exposing the criminals that call themselves Congresscritters.

We wanted Trump to roll Washington.

Instead he got rolled by Washington.

May be factual, may be cruel.

Desantis is NOT running. He has stated repeatedly that he will not run against President Trump. And, reposting this meaningless piece will not alter this fact. No matter how desperate the Never Trumpers are to wish it so.

An excellent summary. The only thing you left out was Trump’s age. Although seemingly mentally and physically fit, that could change, and voters might not want to chance another very old president. And you can count on Dems making his age an issue; hypocrisy never bothers them.

He will not win in 2024 if he does win the primary. This is a R0mney-type maneuver that will result in a Democrat win. If the election had been fair, DT would be in office right now. He would then have been able to work to put Governor Ron in the White House and it would have been buddy-buddy, back-scratching time.

Leave it to the GOP to undermine and sabotage the best thing that has happened to their party since the 1980s.

Someone who lost (either honestly or by being cheated) needs to adjust to the reality of the situation. We need a Trump 2.0. But I wonder if Trump can make that adjustment.

Oh, and do I think Trump was cheated in 2020? See my tag line.

They will bring out the real vaccine statistics as soon as Trump runs and blame him for rushing it through.

Trump has too many vulnerabilities this time around.

He should have made sure he cleaned up the elections while he was in office.

How would a Trump Presidency and a DeSantis Vice Presidency sound? Here’s the logic:

Trump knows Washington, DC, can handle the “big picture” stuff, and DeSantis can be the “hatchet man”, taking out big parts of the swamp. Trump is unexcelled in irritating leftists and hitting them where it hurts, while pointing out their corruption, inadequacy, and mean spiritedness.

Meanwhile, DeSantis would direct a cabinet full of like minded hatchet men to go through the entire federal list of alphabet agencies, issuing ream after ream of pink slips.

The attorney general would have to be a hardcore conservative, willing to fire anyone in the Justice Department or FBI who tried to sabotage or just not comply.

One of his first acts as POTUS, whoever it is, should be to blanket fire all federal prosecutors and replace them with conservatives who take their jobs very seriously. Granted, some will have dozens of grand juries acting overtime to crank out indictments.

The general staff of the armed forces need to be retired and replaced with fighters. If necessary, recall retired generals and admirals if there is no handy replacement. Otherwise, the Pentagon is top heavy with senior officers that are paper pushers and button sorters and politically correct naggers who need to be out on the street.

I do wish that Trump would kinda’ bow out due to age or whatever, and soundly support DeSantis . . . with Trump’s endorsement, he’d keep his loyal fans and attract the rest of the people who are the anybody-but-Trump conservatives.

Give it a rest, Trump, and be a loyal supporter and adviser . . .

Conventional wisdom would say DeSantis has a better chance because he’s like Trump without the mean tweets. However, it was not the mean tweets that did Trump in. It was MAGA, and doing what he said he would do. If DeSantis runs as another MAGA candidate who promises to “build the wall” and “drill, baby, drill”, the ‘rats and RINOs will move heaven and earth again (i.e. another “big steal”) to prevent him from being elected. May as well stick with Trump.

The Media is trying to make a riff between Trump and DeSantis when Desantis already said he wasn’t going to run in 24 because Trump will. I think this was 4more for 45 and Desantis can be 46 in 2028, that will give us 12 Conservative years and decimate the liberals.

"I think DeSantis give us a better chance of winning in 2024, and winning is my top priority."

And a Trump/Desantis 2024 ticket would give us an even better chance of winning in 2024, 2028 and 2032.

DeSantis has said he's not going to run against Trump. That's good.

We need Trump because the Deep State hates him and fears him. They hate DeSantis but they don't fear her.

The ideal? A Trump/DeSantis ticket in '24 with DeSantis taking over in '28 and serving two full terms.

I think 2024 will be an epic battle between Newsom and DeSantis. The values of CA vs the values of FL. We will see which state’s values resonates more with more Americans. . .

One crappy little “straw poll” in Armpit, Colorado, or whatever, and it’s blabbed all over the internet.

Weak, pathetic sauce.

LOL.
