The news here is that the Russian superyacht "Amadea" had fled to Fiji to avoid sanctions and Fiji has consented to the seizure and forfeiture of the ship to United States authorities. Amadea becomes the first Russian superyacht to fly a US flag.

Amadea is a motor yacht with a length of 106.1m. The yacht's builder is Lürssen from Germany who delivered superyacht Amadea in 2017. The superyacht has a beam of 18.0m, a draft of 4.1m and a volume of 4,402 GT.
The Amadea features exterior design by Espen Øino International, while her interior was penned by Zuretti Interior Design, with naval architecture by Lürssen Yachts. Up to 16 guests are accommodated on board the superyacht Amadea , and she also has accommodation for 36 crew members including the captain of Amadea. The yacht Amadea has a steel hull and aluminium superstructure. She is powered by 2 MTU engines, which give her a cruising speed of 13.0 kn and a top speed of 20.0 kn. On the ranking of the largest yachts in the world, Amadea superyacht is listed as number 63rd. She is the 22nd-largest yacht built by Lürssen. The owner of yacht Amadea is shown in SYT iQ and is exclusively available to subscribers. On SuperYacht Times we have 59 photos of yacht Amadea , and she is featured in 20 yacht news articles. Refit market data from SYT iQ show that the yacht was last refitted in 2021.
It currently (June 6, 2022) costs ~US$564,088.00 to fill the Amadea's bunkers with fuel. The average Russian earns about US$6,500 per year.
The most recent valuation of the ship is US$350,000,000.00
The owner of the ship WAS Russian oligarch Suleiman Kerimov. Kerimov is friends with both Vladimir Putin and the Chechen warlord Ramzan Kadyrov.
I find the seizures of Russians’ yachts very troubling since the boats are seized and then maybe the government goes to court after the fact. I think this sets a very bad precedence which could be used in the future against say US politicians who fall out of favor.......

The ship has been seized under sanctions because the profits that paid for the ship can be tied to resources that were stolen from Ukraine. The ship will eventually be auctioned off and the proceeds handed over to Ukraine.

Kerimov is outside the jurisdiction of the Constitution and is not entitled to due process in our courts. But of course he is free to surrender himself to US authorities at a port of entry and then plead his case in a court of US jurisdiction.

I am aware, Kadyrov is his name, but I am sure there are strings attached…..like “ returning” to the US the Javelins and Stingers he captured in the Mariupol area, much video confirming his haul…from non western news sources of course.

Having lived and worked in Moscow, I am getting reports the duals are getting their blue passports confiscated upon entry. The age old trick ( ask me how I know) that has been going on for decades: the dual US citizen ( blue) leaves the US on their red passport, why? Airlines require to see a Visa before boarding for the blues, they are expensive. Upon entering Russia, they present their red ( Russian passport), and vice versa when entering.
Customs has cracked down on it. Ivan knows they are duals, and has now started taking their passports, and locked down all their families bank accounts and of course put them under watch. Sanctions work both ways.
Fact is it is now theft, stealing by senile Joe and Vlad. When vegetable head Joe stole $325 billion of Russian foreign currency assets, he had absolutely no idea what he started. Correct, Kadyrov has already stated his troops have used them against the Ukies, and they love them.However, with Kadyrov being Islamic I am convinced he will put a few aside and work on getting them back on zuS shores and be put to use.
