As I stated in my last 2 posts....this is illegal and goes against the ADA. Our hospital backed down with our elderly mom when we waved the law in their faces. Jim is required to have a personal advocate with him.
Every shift has a “In Charge” or “Charge” Nurse.
She/he runs that shift.
Above the Charge Nurse is another that oversees all shifts.
But THE Nurse that is the manager of all Nurses on that floor or wing is called a D.O.N. Director of Nursing.
A DON works banker’s hours. FYI
Yeah I saw that post, it's good information. Hopefully JustAmy can use it.
👍🙏
That’s putting it mildly! I wish ‘gunner could go raise some hell there.
I think your attorney needs to be bold and push back hard on this. I am continuing to pray.
Americans with disabilities are protected by laws like the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act. These laws say that all public services have to give equal access to people with disabilities, even if they need to make a change in their regular policies. These changes are called reasonable accommodations. This recent ruling confirms that having a person with you in a healthcare setting is a reasonable accommodation, so hospitals should allow it, even during the COVID-19 crisis.
'gunner and I did good when we were getting some crap at the restaurant after a TCS shoot. I was the 'nice-face' and he was the 'not-so-nice-face'. Of course, I'm also pretty big, so the two of us probably put the fear of God in them. :)
I forget what it was, but we got our way. :)
I'm some surprised..but not actually....that this is still going on.
Long long time ago...we had a loved one in a Long Beach Hosp....that the staff was rude...I asked them to have a Doc call me...this was 0200 in the night....Never called me. Thankfully the loved one got better.....
Continuing in Prayer!
Thank you for keeping us informed.
(((HUGS)))
Y’all may need to hatch a plan.
Reminds me of the movie Red 😉
Excellent video about patient’s rights to have a designated supporter visit. Applicable to all states, a covid-19 excuse by the hospital does not contravene the law and the rights under it. In addition, the hospital is required to provide PPE for the supporter to wear. Amy is right to contact her lawyer as that may be the only way to avoid their draconian prohibition.
Thanks for the info. I'm assuming Chris or John are listed as Jim's medical proxies. If not, they should be. Here's hoping you at least get to talk to your lawyer. Prayers for Jim's quick recovery will continue until he's back home where he should be.
There should be a house sup there at all times
Yeah. Those people are harder to get than Monkey Pox on the moon.
But you’re a Doc so they probably really do get back to you.
As Paramedic the ER Charge Nurse would often seek me out……..
Not to thank me, or give me Kudos but to chew my a$$ out about something. LOL
Let is know if there is anything we can do, please.
Good question or worse to try and eliminate FR from the battle of good vs evil.
We had reserved an area.
They had let other people into that area.
That was unacceptable.
The other people were right smartly removed from the area.
Problem solved.
