Does he even remember what they did to him for four years? Trust the plan? Release the Kraken? Trust Sessions, Russia Russia, Ukraine, Ukraine, Pee Pee gate, Impeachment, a virus, all the name calling over the wall?

Does he remember who despises him and wants him gone? McCarthy/insurrection? Wake up Trump.

McCarthy has been subpoenaed by the J/6 Committee and is in negotiations right now about testifying. The endorsement and timing of it by Trump has to do with this. Time will tell what becomes of it.

Well put.

Is there no other repub running in McCarthy’s district?

I don’t understand the endorsement. Endorsing over a dem because there is no other repub? Seems kind of pointless.

Because Trump is looking at the midterm elections, and then his own election two years later. He’s going to need mccarthy’s help to keep the Republicans in line to support him. Trust me there was a deal made.

Why are you surprised? He didn’t endorse him for leader he just endorsed him for the seat. Would you rather a California Democrat hold that seat?

The way I read it, President Trump is not endorsing McCarthy for speaker, he is endorsing McCarthy for California's 20th Congressional District. Probably a safe district and I expect McCarthy has no opposition.

In the endorsement, President Trump uses the term "Leader" but never uses the term "Speaker", i.e. McCarthy will make a great "Speaker of the House".

IMHO, this speaks volumes.

Has to be true, but I still don’t think Trump can trust him. I always keep in mind that illuminati type finger gesture McCarthy was sitting there with when Pence stabbed Trump in the back.

Yes but it’s what I found on twitter. I also gave a link to Trump’s post on truthsocial and took a screenshot of the post.

We need to be honest. Trump was a great President, helped make America great again, stopped Hillary, and lots of other magnificent things.

But seriously, Trump's Achilles is his personnel instincts. They're a virtual dumpster fire. Sessions, the Mooch, Bolton, Tillersn, Mattis, Giuliani, McCabe, Nikki Haley, Sally Yates, Flynn, Hope Hicks, Reince Priebus, Rod Rosenstein. Oh, and Pence.

And this is not an inconsequential Achilles. Indeed, picking Rudy to lead the stolen election charge was a disaster. He may have been America's Mayor but he was out of his league when arguing cases. In fact he was by many accounts hung over and that's why his hair dye was tricking down his face.

Ignoring a problem won't make it go away, and this is a big problem.

The way I read it, President Trump is not endorsing McCarthy for speaker, he is endorsing McCarthy for California's 20th Congressional District. Probably a safe district and I expect McCarthy has no opposition.

Then why endorse someone running with no serious opponent in a completely safe seat?

In the endorsement, President Trump uses the term "Leader" but never uses the term "Speaker", i.e. McCarthy will make a great "Speaker of the House".

To-may-to, to-mah-to. Endorsing McCarthy as leader is tantamount to endorsing him for Speaker if the Republicans take the House.

He had a good legal team for that but the left doxxed them and their kids got threats so they all quit. Other than that, I agree that his people choices suck. It seems all it takes is a little sweet talking and he folds.

Trump did endorse him for Speaker. He didn't need Trump's endorsement to hold his seat and now he is sure to be Speaker.
