Dr. Mehmet Oz, known professionally as Dr. Oz, won Pennsylvania’s Republican Senate primary election on Friday after opposing candidate Dave McCormick conceded.
According to the Associated Press, McCormick realized that despite an ongoing state recount, he would not receive enough votes to beat Oz. “It’s now clear to me with the recount now largely complete that we have a nominee,” McCormick said, according to the AP. “Tonight is really about all us coming together.”
Since the recount remains underway, the race has not officially been called by the AP. Oz’s political victory comes after an extremely tight race between himself and McCormick, a former hedge fund executive, that saw results finalized days after the elections was held over two weeks ago.
A victor could not be immediately declared on the May 17 election night, leading to a recount of the 1.1 million votes cast to determine the winner of the primary. As required by Pennsylvania law, a recount is ordered if the margin of victory for a candidate falls below 0.5% of the votes tallied.
Oz’s political campaign benefited from the endorsement of former president Donald J. Trump, though Oz has refuted claims that the 2020 presidential election was rigged against Trump — an unsubstantiated theory that has grown popular among the GOP base and has been perpetuated by Trump himself.

Maybe as a strategy to help the RINO’s burn cash.
Except that McCormick is more conservative than Oz is, maybe not by much but still.
Over two weeks to know the outcome, and only after one guy concedes.
So now Pennsylvania has a choice between the bad (Oz) and the very bad (Fetterman). One is a Turkish carpetbagger, and the other is an insane communist.
McCormick is establishment.
We can always move Oz out next election, if he proves himself a liberal, but we got rid of an establishment in the meantime.
Barnette cannot win. Mccormick is an Establishment China shill. Oz is far from perfect but I believe he’s the best option of the 3.

The communist has major heart problems and is unable to campaign, which is unhelpful for trying to win an election.
Hope Oz wins but yeesh. At least he owes Trump for getting him the job if he wins. At this point, I’ll sign for him being as reliable a senator as Toomey, which isn’t saying much.
It’s good to see Mcconnell loving McCormick go down.
If his heart doesn’t go kaput before the election.
I can only hope that I’m as wrong about 0z as I was with Trump.
And that Trump has caused 0z to see the light.

Dems will happily elect a wife beater or heart transplant donor list member to the Senate as long as there is a (D) behind the name. Meanwhile, GOP voters will happily shoot genuine conservative candidates in the back.
Oz was going to self-destruct but Fetterman is a dead man walking, by his own doctor’s admission. People said things about Trump or Biden being senile but their doctors never said anything remotely close to that diagnosis. Fetterman’s campaign is DOA thanks to his Doc.
