Arestovich: "Crimea is the territory of Ukraine, so the ban on the use of American MLRS does not apply to it" (Ukrainian presidential adviser)

Ukraine will not comply with the restrictions allegedly imposed on it by the Americans on the use of long-range multiple launch rocket systems. This is confirmed by the latest statements of Ukrainian politicians, including from among the Zelensky team.

In the wake of the deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Yegor Chernev, who said that Ukraine does not intend to comply with any restrictions on the use of American MLRS, the "mouthpiece" of the Kyiv regime, Alexei Arestovich, who holds the post of adviser to the head of the office of the President of Ukraine, spoke in the same vein. True, his statement did not apply to the entire territory of Russia, but only to the Crimea.

According to Arestovich, Crimea is the territory of Ukraine, so the ban on the use of American MLRS does not apply to it, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will shell the peninsula with American weapons "if necessary."

Crimea is ours. Our Ukrainian. And they know it. Therefore, he will fly to the Crimea already on the run, if there is such a need.

- he said, adding that the shelling of the peninsula would not be something new for Kyiv, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have already used weapon to attack its territory.

As previously reported, US President Joe Biden signed a decree on the allocation of a new military assistance package to Ukraine, which will include HIMARS long-range MLRS, but with the condition not to use these weapons on Russian territory.

Zelensky told Biden that they didn’t even think about it, Washington pretended to believe it. In fact, no one will comply with anything. True, the APU will not be able to shoot at 300 km, the systems are transferred only in the MLRS version with a firing range of 80 km.

This is a pro Russian source, I can't find any mention of this seemingly important information elsewhere.

I don't know if this statement is true or if it can verified, but it's significant enough that I felt it needed to be examined. After all it could readily lead to a major and rapid escalation if true.

If it is true the press and politicians should be discussing it but so far nothing. This isn't some random politician but basically the defacto spokesman and official chief advisor for Zelensky.

Maybe Biden knows this and is happy with it? Or maybe this story isn't true? I leave it for others to figure out.

Key context, discussion about a different weapon system the US is supplying but relevant along the same lines for Crimea:

"Map of Areas that the MQ-1C Gray Eagle Drone can reach when launched from Major Ukrainian Airports

USA is planning to sell Ukraine 4 MQ-1C Gray Eagle Drones which have a range of 400 Km and can fly for over 30+ hours, and can carry up to 8 Hellfire Missiles"

{that's crimea on the bottom there in the red zone}

I have this uncomfortable sense that we’re seeing play out in real time the movie, “The Bedford Incident.”

What the hell are we doing?

If I understand it right, Ukraine is getting the high mobile MLRS, the HIMARS, and longer ranged, but not longest ranged, GPS guided rockets/missiles, the GMLRS. The 70 to 130 km range will likely be used on Russian artillery.

Russia has very good artillery, which out ranges most of what Ukraine has, and has been causing a lot of trouble for Ukraine. Naturally, this is a fact the news has not reported much about at all.

You didn’t address the central point of the article:

* The US provided this system under the condition that Ukraine agree to not attack Russia with it.

* That the Chief advisor and defacto spokesman for Zelensky has said that since they don’t consider Crimea part of Russia, the agreement will not apply to it.

* Obviously this would lead to an immediately and dramatic escalation in the war

Zelensky forgot...Thousands of Ukrainian Soldiers in Crimea walked away...simply wouldn’t fight. If he attacks Crimea, the skies of Ukraine will be black with smoke.

Ukraine as a nation was formed during the time of the Russian Revolution by Ukrainians declaring independence.

Lenin had no wish for an independent Ukraine.

Krushchev was born in Russia and his family moved to the Donbas.

He ran the Ukraine for a long time before becoming head of the CCCP.

The Ukrainians can make rockets and could modify the American rockets to increase their range.

For targeting purposes the drones would have to fly over airspace the Russians have control over.

Again with the false map. Ukrainian national identity dates back to at least the 17th century. Other than Crimea in 1954, Russia added nothing to Ukraine. Rather the present borders of Ukraine were essential those of the declared by the newly independent Ukraine and recognized by the Russian government in 1917. In 1922 Lenin just recognized was were already the eastern border of Ukraine after it had be conquered by the Bolsheviks and formed one of the constituent republics of the new Union of Soviet Socialists Republics. These borders (again, other than Crimea) represent the areas with a Ukrainian majority. Enough with this Russian propaganda.
