More than 4,000 Salesforce employees have signed an open letter demanding the company cut ties with the NRA

More than 4,000 Salesforce employees have urged their company's leadership to drop the National Rifle Association (NRA) as a customer.

The employees made their request in an open letter addressed to company leaders including co-CEOs Marc Benioff and Bret Taylor, SFGate first reported, citing a copy of the letter it viewed. The employees delivered the letter a day after a teenager went on a shooting rampage in Uvalde, Texas, on May 24, killing at least 19 students and two adults.

"It's not in our power to get background checks or other gun control measures passed by Congress — but we can effect change by ending our commercial relationship with our customer, the National Rifle Association," the Salesforce employees wrote in their letter.

The letter's signatories expressed concern the NRA would rely on Marketing Cloud even more after the Uvalde massacre, according to a copy of the letter published by Protocol. Marketing Cloud is a Salesforce software that helps users plan and analyze digital marketing campaigns.

The signatories said the NRA would ramp up its marketing efforts "not to prevent future tragedies from happening, but to sow fear, sell guns, and abet future atrocities," the letter continued.

"It is unconscionable to consider their use of Marketing Cloud to capitalize on mass shootings," the letter continued.

The NRA has continued its advertising activity in the aftermath of the shooting. It started running Facebook ads about two weeks ago that urged gun owners to not let Congress limit gun ownership, and those remained active after the Uvalde shooting, per CNBC. The weekend after the massacre, the NRA held its annual convention in Houston, just 300 miles from Uvalde. The group showcased "14 acres" of guns and gear at the convention.

Who cares? NRA can code their own platform and go head-to-head with SalesForce. Or, better yet, just invest in a non-woke SF competitor.

I use Salesforce at work. It sucks, terrible platform.

You're not kidding. They should be charged for fraud for the poor product they have.

Benioff is the king of the corporate virtue signalers. Don’t expect anything productive from that turd.

Typical brain-dead useful idiots, “It’s not in our power to get background checks...”.
By which they must mean the background checks that are already unconstitutional law, BATFE form 4473.
You know, the same form Hunter Biden lied on with no repercussions.
In over twenty years as a gun dealer I never heard of anyone being prosecuted for lying on that form.
Maybe because nearly every time someone “Fails” the background check it turns out they actually did not.
So actually going after the very few criminals buying from licensed dealers would be as likely to lead to a false arrest as to a genuine bad guy.

Here’s the secret you are not supposed to realize.
ILLEGALLY buying a gun is almost as easy as buying illegal drugs, and you can probably get it from the same source.
So all this talk of “Gun Control” is phony, dangerous drugs are being legalized or no longer prosecuted.
But legit firearms dealers are the new pariahs.

Precisely. The secretary does not run the company. Fire the lot of them and replace with patriots.

Salesforce is just a sales tracking database. It allows you to target opportunities with past knowledge and tracks what ever is put into it. So basically a database.

Bad oversight on Benioff’s part to even have the NRA as a customer in the first place.

I left a workplace because of crap like this. Change of CEO’S the man brought in all sorts of “social Issues” we were suppose to promote as employees. I finally just left - and told them it was because of all the things they were promoting I didn’t believe in nor could I support.

I guess that needs to be part of the interview process for hiring.
Do you support the NRA?
Show me how big is a 9 mm round?
A 50 caliber round?
What does AR in AR-15 mean?

Go with one of these cloud ERP systems and they own your company and data and can blackmail or shut you down at will.

Stealing publicly traded companies’ resources from the shareholders should result in felony convictions for failed fiduciary responsibilities.

Employee demands should be AFTER customer demands, which should be AFTER owner (i.e. shareholder) demands.

Political companies should NOT have access to the stock markets.

Political affiliation, as long as the political group is not advocating illegal activity, should be a protected class just like race, sex, and national origin. It is essentially an extension of the rights of speech, press, free association, and peaceful assembly. It would have been obvious to the founders to the extent it did not need to be separately enumerated int the Bill of Rights.

So a little over 5%. The other 95% don’t seem to care. Probably lines up with the actual percentage of Americans who support the Dems gun control proposals.

I live in the “Constitution” state. So many leftists thought that you could just walk in to a gun store in TX and buy a gun, no background checks. They have no concept of how different guns work, what they are best used for or an of the actual laws on the books now.

All they know is what Occupy Democrats, Every town for Gun Safety, etc. tell them to think.
