What is a Progressive Conservative?
Oxymoron. Progressive has positive connotation but reality?
“...What is a Progressive Conservative?”
I think the name was originally a gimmick to try and lure more of the squishy left-of-centre voters, back in the day. The federal conservative party dropped the “progressive” qualifier a few years before Stephen Harper was Prime Minister.
Inertia has kept the old PC brand in the provincial parties.
Ontarians choose continued tyranny.
A contradiction in terms.
One is either conservative or progressive.
There are progressive Republicans in this country, but they are not conservatives.
Ontarians choose continued tyranny.

Not exactly... but they did at least choose more of the same. I suspect that most people have a long enough memory that there is no way that anyone was going to vote for a party headed by a cabinet minister from the Wynn government. It was bad enough to watch Ford blunder his way through the era of WuFlu.... but the thought of going through that again at some time in the future with one of the other leaders (especially the Liberals) at the helm would be unthinkable.
Two discouraging things... neither of the parties to the right of the Conservatives got any traction at all... too bad because there was some very good candidates there. The second discouraging thing is just how low the voter turnout was.... 38%. Voter apathy never does any party or jurisdiction any good.
