Russia’s nuclear forces are holding drills northeast of Moscow Wednesday, a day after President Biden announced plans to send advanced missiles to Ukraine.

Some 1,000 Russian soldiers are taking part in intense maneuvers using more than 100 vehicles, including Yars intercontinental missile launchers, Russia’s independent news agency Interfax reported, citing the country’s Ministry of Defense.

The drills are taking place in the Ivanovo Oblast, about 160 miles northeast of Moscow.

The drills, which are aimed at preparing the missile systems for combat, required the troops to march more than 60 miles, camouflage the equipment and post guards, according to Russian news site mkivanovo.ru.

The training exercise also involved Typhoon-M armored counter-sabotage vehicles,

The Typhoon-M is equipped with different types of reconnaissance and surveillance equipment including a TKN-4S night vision sight and Kredo-1 ground surveillance radar. The vehicle is also equipped with an electronic warfare suite able to detect or jam hostile radio communications or electronic attacks, according to the report.

sure, but...

https://theintercept.com/2022/05/18/ukraine-reaper-drones-weapons-transfer/

” the military-industrial complex is now trying to coax the White House into sending what are, essentially, unmanned fighter jets to counter Russia’s invasion. Kyiv reportedly met with the major defense contractor General Atomics about obtaining the “Hunter-Killer” MQ-9 Reaper drone”

““Approve this, US Govt.,” Rep. Adam Kinzinger, R-Ill., tweeted last month when the Washington Post reported that Ukraine’s ambassador to the U.S. met with General Atomics. “

“This week, senior fellows from the General Atomics-funded Hudson Institute wrote an op-ed in The Dispatch endorsing sending Ukraine Reapers as well. “

The Russians now have two strategic failures:

a) the failure of the initial invasion to install a puppet regime in Kiev;

b) the failure of the current operation to conduct a Kesselschlacht destroying enough of the UA to force Kiev to sue for peace and leave Russia in control of the territories it has now seized.

The big question is whether Kiev will have the forces to shove the Russians out of much of the territory they now hold.

You sir, are a fool. You do not speak for me, nor do you have any authority to drag me into a war just because you believe the bs the msm and your government puts out. This country is on it’s last leg, but you only follow the shinny objects you are told to follow. Totally oblivious to what is actually happening all around your immediate AO.

I actually think that this war could have been avoided with a negotiated settlement. But that would have required intelligence and leadership, both of which are not to be found anywhere in the junta controlling DC.

Be that as it may, given what I know about the area and its history, I simply cannot conceive of how a Russian victory in Ukraine is in American interests.

And I'm certainly not oblivious to what's happening here. With a stolen election, the Dems are using every agency at their disposal to strangle the country like a boa constrictor and impose a one party state.

I just happen to know that it's possible for someone to set fire to your porch even when your kitchen is already on fire.

The big question is whether Kiev will have the forces to shove the Russians out of much of the territory they now hold.

I'm pessimistic about Ukraine's chances of liberating much of Russian-held territory. Up till now the Ukrainians have tied up Russian troops in a deep defensive belt in the east while sending tank hunting teams to destroy Russian armor and generally demoralize the Russians. The Ukies turned out to be pretty good at this. But it now seems that the Russians are holding most of the territory south and east of the Dneiper River and are going over to the strategic defensive. So now the shoe is on the other foot. UA has to attack prepared defensive positions. And they already appear to be on point of mutiny.

Some poorly equipped territorial defense units who were sent to Donbas got badly chewed up. Zelensky sacked the territorial defense commander for that.

There was a good interview in Die Welt yesterday with Ukrainian troops getting some R&R about 20km back from Severodonetsk. Grimly determined is how I would judge their comments, including one guy whose unit went from 700 men to 120. The UA appears to be waiting for the Russians to exhaust themselves. They prepare deep defensive works a couple of kilometers behind the front, fight in the existing lines and then fall back. With the whole battlefield inside both sides' artillery, it's murderous. But the Russians must be getting hammered. There are also at least two brigades of armor the Ukrainians got from Poland being held in reserve. So they are giving ground very slowly and waiting for a counteroffensive. Whether they can succeed or not is unclear.

"Nope, if China is mobilizing for a war *right now* then
they could only be mobilizing for a land war."

I remember reading not to long ago a report or article
by a Chi-Comm academic claiming that Vladivostok belonged
to the Chinese in the past and that China will eventually
eventually take it back. This article would not have been
allowed to be published without the official permission
of the Chi-Comm government.

I have no doubt that the Chi-Comms are eyeing Russian territory.
The performance of the Russian military in Ukraine must be
encouraging to China.

Just one mistake, one miscalculation is all that is necessary.

And we have Joe Brain-Dead Biden and his band of merry freaks and homos in position to make those miscalculations.

Pretty scary. Actually, very scary.

“The big question is whether Kiev will have the forces to shove the Russians out of much of the territory they now hold.”

The companion question is whether Moscow will have the forces to hold the stolen territory. They’re hurting economically and the ironic fact of their military equipment is that much of it was built in Soviet-era Ukrainian factories that have now been destroyed.

Most of the equipment Russia is losing in this war cannot be replaced. Russia can’t do it and China has made clear they won’t sell any kind of vehicles to Russia. So after they run out of tanks and BMPs they’ll have nothing.

Right now Ukraine has to hold the line and as Russia goes broke they’ll be able to push the invaders out of Ukraine and they’ll inevitably retake Crimea.

And at the point the Russia-Ukraine War concludes is when it would be most advantageous for China to invade Siberia. Russia will be at its weakest, they will not be able to obtain resupply, and the world will not give one single care that China is taking back what the Russians stole from them.

The U.S. should not be supplying anyone with anything.

At least, not on my dime. Make the Mexican government supply stuff - Biden is supplying illegal Mexican aliens with our stuff, while Americans suffer. So he wants to send rockets for someone else's civil war on top of all the other waste of our tax dollars. F' Joe Biden.
