The map crafted by Gov. Ron DeSantis' Office will govern races in 2022. The Florida Supreme Court won’t hear a challenge to Florida’s new congressional map before the Midterms.
The court announced on Thursday it has denied a request for a new hearing on redistricting. That means the final voice on the matter before the 2022 elections will be Florida’s 1st District Court of Appeal, which last month struck down a circuit court decision to replace the map.
“The right to come before the high court “is restricted to preserving jurisdiction that has already been invoked or protecting jurisdiction that likely will be invoked in the future,” reads a disposition of the case.
That means a map (P 0109) designed by Gov. Ron DeSantis and signed by the Governor will cover the 2022 elections. A lawsuit alleging the map violates the Fair Districts amendment to Florida’s Constitution by diminishing the ability of Black constituents to elect a Representative of their choice remains ongoing, but any impact will have to wait for a full trial to unfold, something that could take years.

I member.
Then courts in New York and Maryland shot down extreme Democrat Gerrymanders, DeSantis was able to get his map signed into law, and all of the Democrat and Doomer hopes went up in smoke.
BWWHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAH!
There are now 208 Republican leaning districts, 187 Democrat leaning districts and 40 tossup districts.
ALL of the signs indicate a Red Wave with the GOP on track for at least 230 seats in the House.
Doomers are deeply saddened.
The republican legislature proposed a plan. DeSantis gave them his plan as the one he would sign. The legislature approved his plan.
Shhh dont let facts get in the way of the sky falling crowd
I just hope the pubs do something with their gains.
Still waiting on the repeal of obamacare.
Keep it in your pants, newbie, until you learn how to stop acting like a millennial douchebag
If the census was calculated correctly Florida should have ended up with 30 congressional seats, we ended up with 28.
The original Legislative plan was 14 to 14, R vs D....DeSantis then presented his plan which made the 28 districts, 20 R and 8 D, and one of the D districts something 51 to 49 democrat which makes it competitive.
When it’s all said and done, I would not be surprised to see 21 Republicans to 7 Democrats coming out of Florida.
Yeah, they actually get triggered when the doom doesn’t happen. It’s amazing to watch.

I am far more optimistic than you. I foresee the GOP having 280 seats in the House.
I expect 240-260 seats, remembering that various courts can jump in yet. However, the court of public opinion is pointing in favor of Republicans, and in particular, the Dims are losing Hispanics (male and female) and Black men. Only massive fraud in the cities keeps the black city vote at 92% Dim.
There was never any such plan in the FL legislature, and that would be a ludicrous split even for conservative-hating RINO legislators (and Florida has a few).

Last time around it took a few years before the RINO FL Supreme Court did the Democrats' bidding and shitcanned the 2011 Republican map. Let's enjoy the wailing hysterics of Democrats regarding DeSantis' map while we can because it may not last forever (or even to 2024).
What info do you have regarding the Senate and the chances the GOP takes it? I keep hearing that is going to happen I just don’t see the numbers to support that. Not being a wise guy.
I want to see the Demon Rats *crushed* in 2022.
I have concerns about election integrity.
No way the clown and his cackling buddy won in 2020.
280 is out of reach. 230 is a floor.
I think 245-250 is the most likely outcome.
This is an example of a district the lawsuit wants to protect.
Here is the district in question:
Florida CD-5 = Al Lawson (D-Tallahassee)
He supposedly represents Tallahassee, but his district runs all the way to Jacksonville?
The problem with the district is that it is long and narrow, spanning from Tallahassee to Jacksonville. Districts should be compact so that the people being represented share common issues.
It's hard to imagine that the people of Tallahassee (western panhandle, FSU, state government workers) have the same issues as the people of Jacksonville (Atlantic coastal, seaport, densest Florida city).
The DeSantis map splits this into three districts, with Tallahassee and Jacksonville each in their own separate districts, with one more in between. That way, the people in those cities each have their own representatives to represent regional issues, instead of one representative to represent only African-American issues.

Don’t yell at me, I’m reporting what Steve Bannon and others have reported on the War Room.
Anthony Sabatini, who is running a Red District in the Orlando Area also talked about a 14/14 split, before DeSantis presented his plan.
BTTT!
Best news I've heard all week.
