Georgia’s top elections official was expected to appear Thursday before a special grand jury investigating whether former President Donald Trump and others illegally tried to meddle in the 2020 election in the state.
Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger was summoned to the Fulton County courthouse where the special grand jury has been meeting, according to a subpoena obtained by The Associated Press through an open records request. Other subpoenas seek documents and testimony from five other people in his office.
Raffensperger arrived at the courthouse in downtown Atlanta Thursday morning. When a reporter asked how the day would go, Raffensperger replied “hopefully short” as he walked up the steps.
Trump directed his ire at his fellow Republican after Raffensperger refused to bend to pressure to overturn the votes that gave Democrat Joe Biden a narrow presidential election victory in Georgia. Raffensperger defeated a Trump-endorsed challenger in last month’s Republican primary.
Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis said her investigation includes looking into a January 2021 phone call in which Trump pushed Raffensperger to “find” the votes needed for him to win Georgia. Trump has said his call with Raffensperger was “perfect” and that he did nothing wrong.

And yet, the idiots that call themselves Republicans in Georgia, voted overwhelmingly to allow Raffensberger and Kemp to continue.
“Finding” those votes means that the votes Trump was/is looking for were/are indeed his in the first place and now but were lost to election and voter fraud, which attributes them to JoeBiden or to no one at all. Trump never asked for any votes that were not cast for him in the first place.
In Fulton County Georgia it is.
As FR commenter, kiryandil, posted earlier:
I think they bragged that 106,000 “ballots” were “adjudicated”...

“SO FAR WE HAVE SCANNED 113,130 BALLOTS. WE ADJUDICATED OVER 106,000. THOSE HAVE BEEN PUBLISHED ON THE SITE. SO THOSE RESULTS ARE ALREADY POSTED. YOU CAN...” - Richard Barron
That was during the Senate run-off where, once again, the ‘mail in ballots’ were used to send Warnock and Ossoff to the Senate. And Raffensberger and Kemp were happy to do it.
This is a Trump witch hunt by the Dem Fulton DA who is ignoring all sorts of real crimes.
Incredible attempt to squash election challenges.
I’m not one of those idiots. Didn’t vote for either. I knew Kemp would win big but was surprised that Raffensberger won. We still vote on Dominion machines which is ludicrous.
“So trying to uncover illegal meddling is also illegal meddling, but more serious.”
That is a good way to put it. It also shows how screwed up things have become.
Excellent point.
Everything is upside down in this country.
the idiots voted?
Yes, the ComDem’s voted in the GOP Primary for those two slimy vermin.
and here you are pimping for illegal war when the real war is right here at home.
Nope. We have open primaries, and since the Democrat gov candidate was unopposed (Stacy Abrams), the Dems felt free to switch and vote those two through the primary.
“investigating whether former President Donald Trump and others illegally tried to meddle in the 2020 election in the state”
Why do I suspect the “others” they are investigating will not include the leftist NGOs that were paying mules to dump bags full of fraudulent ballots in the drop boxes?
Well, all 700,000+ voters for Kemp weren’t Democrats that crossed over.
There was a thread on REDDIT a few months ago, where the liberals in the state were discussing how to vote in the primary to make sure their preferred candidate, Kemp, won. Actually rather interesting read.
However, plenty of Republicans voted for Kemp to go back. And that is absolutely astonishing considering what he did, is doing and will continue to do to this state.
As I stated, anything he does, he will do so with the support of the legislature.
Anything Abrams does, which isn’t going to be much different than Kemp....giving the state away to any and every liberal/democrat company that wants our tax dollars in the name of ‘tax credits/incentives/whatever’...will/should be done with a ton of opposition.
Georgia will soon become another Colorado, Illinois, Washington, Oregon, California, NY, Michigan, Wisconsin, Arizona(soon), Tennessee(soon)....states where the Democrats have such huge numbers in certain cities and counties, that they will run the table on the statewide elections, while the state legislatures will maintain what they have. Although in Cali, Oregon, Washington, the liberals have learned to move into the suburbs and rural areas and take them over too. Exactly what has and is happening in Georgia...ie, Flip the 6th..which they did quite easily.
I sure don’t appreciate Bonzo’s Feral “judges” letting Clintoon and other RATs off the hook so they can concentrate on crucifying President Trump. America has turned into a Number One Sh*t Show since the RAT’s took over everything.
Nor am I PeachyKeen.
Perdue...Jones...Hice...whoever ran against Carr
Thankfully, Miller- Mr. I Want To Make Mail In Voting Illegal - got his a$$ handed to him. Amazing, he’s the Senate leader. Original voting bill, from last year, did exactly that...no more Mail In Ballots or Drop Boxes. Forced a rewrite to codify the same. He is the Ga Senate Leader and he did nothing. He can easily push a bill during the next session, but he won’t. Nothing but a campaign slogan.
If Kemp wins...and I won’t hold my nose and vote for him-and if that means Abrams wins-c’est la vie....I hope he gets rolled up in some corruption scheme with the disgusting film credits or the Rivian deal and Jones ascends. Only thing that MIGHT save this state. Otherwise, get ready. For there aren’t too many places to go.
A little fairy dust and VOILA.
As you put it....Magic!!!
