Who are you to say what is of value and what is not? You sound like the juror in the Sussman trial who said there are more important things than someone lying to the FBI.
The fact is, you aren’t considering being in their position. If someone said things about you that caused you to not only lose your job but become unemployable in your field of work entirely, you would feel a lot differently than you do.

In spite of recent horrific events, people are being sued and court cases are being heard and verdicts are being rendered. The fact that there are horrific events in the world, does not negate the rights of someone to have their day in court.
