Until we start hiring cops...that have demonstrated fearlessness on their resume, instead of OLD men and others with no background of being involved in violent situations, the school shootings will continue.

With that we have today's thread winner.

Ideally, there would be at least one tack'ed up trained and experienced, combat-ready officer in a concealed equipped security center who would take immediate action and would also serve as site commander of any other LEO forces called in.

I.e., this "resource officer" would be fully capable of doing a prompt, capable job of protecting the school's resources and coordinating any additional help needed.

..........I practically get ill thinking about the little girls shot and calling for help.

Yes Arredondo is to blame but so are the citizens of Uvalde who hired him without demanding a public rendition from Arredondo about all his experience with hot lead flying around him. If he can’t prove that he has some experience in that environment, he shouldn’t be hired to guard the very lives of little kids.

All government schools SHOULD (but won’t) start looking for retired Navy Seals, Army Rangers, Delta Force, Air Force PJ’s, proven/experienced street cops and combat proven marines to guard their precious children!!! If nothing else, Arredondo proved this. And pay these EXPERIENCED people whatever it takes!!!!

Teachers, politicians and academics should have no say in this hiring process. Only a committee of parents should.
