Some Freepers maybe sympathetic to this but as a libertarian not me...

Live and let live, right?

To be fair this was an old interview they have dug up so would be wise to wait to hear his response before drawing any conclusions...

Didn’t the ussc already decide this 7-0 long ago in the Larry Flynt case?

A great big nothing, he didn’t call for a ban.

I think it was George Carlin that said, “If a man wants to buy a girlie magazine at one o’clock in the morning, I say we let him.”

People have lost focus on how difficult life can be for single people once they grow older. A single person, who gets sick, has nobody to help them. Nobody to look after a business, nobody to make health decisions, nobody to look after children.

In the past people married, not just for love, but because they knew exactly how cruel life can be.

We hide that terribleness away in nursing homes; we look to government to protect us when times get bad. We’ve exchanged families for government.

Porn is a tangential problem. The real problem is a population that only understands the consequences of (in)actions when they are far too old to correct them.

Ban porn?

Before we consider the First Amendment implications and before we debate how harmful it is to society, before we can ban it, we have first got to define it.

Good luck with that.

Rand, porn use to be identified as a Playboy magazine…..

….now we have the most vile ( I hear) online porn access to anyone and everyone…
….and from what I hear it’s beyond belief
…also, because of the slippery slope, mere porn is not ‘enough’ anymore

Don’t start down that road…….even libertarians should understand this.
Christians are much maligned……..but our authority, Jesus Christ, gave us wise edicts!

Suggested putting porn on a dedicated porn web called XXX.WHATEVER.COM

Pefect to block, ID, hammer those using WWW instead of XXX.

great idea, solves a few issues regarding network assurance etc...

Guess what.... it cant be done, violates free speech.

Sometime 1A is troublesome.

How can America bounce back from low birthrates?

Bans don't work. A high-ish tax on childless individuals is a workable and fair option. Avoidance of the tax gets you where you need to be.

Porn is addictive likes drugs or alcohol, albeit with different effects. It's a demon (real or metaphorical) that burrows its way into your mind, body, and soul...and demands to be fed.

The only way out is for the addict to want freedom from it enough to fight it.

Good luck with all that "we must honor men stuff."

Um, that won’t happen because government officials and media personalities would have nothing to do all day. Porn and a drawer full of munchies is entertaining.

Porn destroys men from the inside out. It is one of the most powerful addictions of all.

I am a libertarian....BUT for the sake of argument, I assume you would NOT be o.k. with a store selling drugs to your minor child. Correct?

Draw the lines for me.

I am against drug prohibition but I am in favor of age of majority laws.

I am against censorship but I am in favor of it being illegal to show obscenity to a minor. So, they can have their website but if it is technically possible for a minor to access it without their parent’s permission, then the company has committed a crime.

A 12 year old can purchase a mobile device at a store with $30 of their own money and can hook it up to public Wifi and access free porn. The company serving it has committed a crime. This is no different than a 12 year taking $30 of their own money and buying weed at the weed shop or booze at the liquor store.

He’s onto something. At the very least there should be strict verification. No child should be subjected to it, even by accident.

Wont be able to ban it, but getting it out of public libraries and schools would help. Used to be “porn” was only available in back alley shops.

The Gab guy Torba just said the same thing. “We are coming for your porn.’

So they will send the police into the basement where an old man is looking at dirty movies? A lot of Freepers would be cool with that. If they don’t like it, villainize it and ban it, just like the libs do.

It’s dying and will go away. The stinky old bookstores are gone. Don’t energize it or create mystery. The kids think it’s boring and play video games and virtual reality. In fact, women players in the Metaverse are complaining about simulated rape.

My grandsons tell me the latest trends. The women on Onlyfans do shows and vids, but they spend a lot of time complaining that they can’t get any subscribers. And the last thing today’s teenaged boys want to look at is grainy pictures and blurry movies. The libs already took big bites out of Pornhub and Tumblr for some woke violations.

Gays aren’t that into porn. They like hookups and Grindr.

We don’t need to join our enemies playing Church Lady. This battle was won a long time ago.
