When was the most recent public sighting of either LTG Cadieu (Canadian retired) or LTG Roger Cloutier (US Army)? If Cadieu is alive and well in Ukraine, why have the Ukrainians not trotted him out to make the Russian misinformation promoters look stupid and deceitful? Same question for the US / NATO and LTG Cloutier? You would think the NATO land forces commander would make public appearances regularly but I cannot find any references to him being seen since the capture story started, apart from the photograph of him supposedly in Turkey at the time.

Russian official sources never claimed any particular high level NATO officer being arrested and they may have reasons for not parading them even if they have them — exchange material and avoiding acknowledging the otherwise obvious fact that Russia is at war with NATO.

Having said this I have no clue as to who was captured in Mariupol.. perhaps only two Brits and a Moroccan we know of. Arrested Azov people confirmed presence of foreigners but there were no names in their interviews.

In a way similar: Russian defense ministry said that 15 foreign specialists were killed in a strike at a Nikolaev facility ~ 3 days ago. But no names or even nationalities, only some hints that they were likely Brits.

Cloutier seems unlikely to have been there. But we do know that Cadieu did volunteer and travel to Ukraine.

Part of this is the name confusion after conversion to Cyrillic and back — this is how they ended up with two different names of one person.
