They may be, but they are only about 10% or so of the population. The state is ruled by communist-Japs (think Senator Hirono that called the Knights of Columbus an extremist group) and far left (mostly white) Democrats mostly from the left coast.
Native Hawaiians are a mix of Republicans and anti-federal government types who either want sovereignty or a restoration of their legitimate government.
