Missouri cops shot a woman five times as she tried to flee her arrest for a suspected armed carjacking — even though she had shown that she was unarmed and told them that she was pregnant, according to a horrified witness.
“They shot her! Oh my God, they shot her!” a woman repeatedly cried out in footage she filmed in the aftermath of Friday night’s officer-involved shooting in Kansas City.
“What the f–k!” she gasped as she filmed the shot woman on the ground. “Oh my God, they shot her and they still putting her in handcuffs!”
Police confirmed to KCTV that Leonna Hale, 26, was shot by officers responding to reports of an armed carjacking at 8 p.m.

“Unarmed” does NOT mean undangerous. But, someone will be getting a new flat screen soon. Probably a lot of them. Hope Target is stocked up.
So carjacking when pregnant is ok but if you get caught and are ordered to get on the ground you can’t because you are pregnant?

It’s not okay.
However, the response to fleeing is to chase. Not to shoot.
I know that shooting is easier than chasing. If you are not willing to give pursuit a chance, maybe it’s not the right line of work for you.
Carjacking is becoming far far too common, and it’s often very violent, if not at least traumatic. Something has to be done about. However, treating suspects with deadly force because of non-compliance is definitely not a due-process protection.
The question is “what was she pregnant with?”

In many states, police are allowed to shoot a fleeing suspect that is considered armed and dangerous or wanted for a violent felony.
That’s correct. Being pregnant is a get out of jail free card.
Just a banner week for dipshit cops. School shooting underway: Dawdle in the parking lot. Unarmed pregnant lady: Blast 5 times and then handcuff.
She should have thought about what might happen before she committed the crime. And she should be prosecuted for endangering her unborn child.
Will these cops ever learn — wait til she’s near a gas pump and taser her.
They executed an unarmed, pregnant woman who was actively fleeing, not fighting. The police are very brave and trigger happy when they are in no real danger. Real heroes...... Just good public "servants" serving out bullets to citizens.
I just scanned the Twitter reactions to this. It seems they might use this as an excuse to riot in KC. I doubt it will be ruled a clean shoot.

The police should have checked to see if she was pregnant before firing.
The New York Post is actually a conservative newspaper. It does, however, sometimes go for the sensational.
Anyway, I don’t think it matters one bit whether or not this woman was pregnant. But it does matter whether or not she was armed. Was she holding a weapon? If so, too bad for her.
But if she truly was unarmed, the cops have some serious explaining to do.

but if I am on the jury, the cop is not guilty....because...I don’t care about the rights of car jackers, nor their lives.
