Not to downplay the seriousness of it even if someone doesn't die, but the Wikiepdia entry is filled to the brim with "school shootings" that have 0-1 deaths. When people hear "school shooting," they probably generally think of a high death count and some psycho indiscriminately shooting everyone, as opposed to an angry student bringing a gun to school only to target one specific individual (principal/teacher) that they're mad at.

Don’t forget, several of the school shooting stats also include non-school related stuff like: a gang shooting in a school parking lot in the middle of the night, school cops having an ND, or a guy that lives right next to the school shooting a burglar.

They used to list a shooting that happened in the school parking lot when the school was closed and that involved none of the students or staff as a "school shooting".
