Jealousy, hate, and fear are their motivating factors. Jealousy, because they are socialists. And look at all the fear issues on their agenda: capitalism, global warming, guns, white supremacy (as if it’s everywhere), “offensive language”, etc etc etc. Be afraid, be very afraid. And hatred, because as Shakespeare said: “In time we hate that which we often fear”.
It is a mental illness that comes about from holding altruism as the highest moral value no matter what . If bad things keep happening it is because people have not sacrificed enough yet. They are truly invincibly ignorant.
The self-righteousness hurts them as much as their terrible ideas, IMO.
They presume to tell people what beliefs they hold and what experiences they have had, and if you say otherwise, well, you’re a racist, and “dig deeper.”
IOW, if you’re an individual and you deviate from the assigned beliefs, experiences, and characteristics of your group, you don’t get to do that. You’re a racist, you’re an unperson.
The arrogance of that never seems to occur to them.

It’s all tribalism, hence all reasoning is motivated, and productive argument is poisoned at the outset. This applies to both sides BTW.

But, those that are left-leaning do not have good intentions. Take for example their war on oil and gas. They know it will hurt almost everyone. They admit it. But, they think the ‘transition’ will be worth it in the end, because they do not think they will be the ones feeling the pain. Those ‘other’ people (the deplorables, so to speak) with their big trucks will he ones who are hurt. THEY will still have electricity, heat, AC, and their private planes. And, in the end will be a world powered by unicorn skittles. To willingly plan on inflicting pain on others is not a “good intention”.
A large percentage of liberals are simply faking “being smart.”
It means a great deal to them for others to see them as intelligent, well informed, wise, gifted, etc. Liberal platitudes offer a way to achieve what they think is the appearance of these characteristics without actually having to possess them.
To admit they are wrong is to admit they were faking it the whole time, which is horrific for them.

Having attended NYU during the late 1950s (57-60), I (an Atilla-the-Hun Korean-War Marine vet) had many “liberal” friends... Including a couple I lived with in the village...
That was back in the day when liberals and conservatives agreed on two major things:
- To be able to discuss differing political opinions without hatred; and
- We were patriotic Americans who loved our country...
Neither of these conditions existed after the late1960s...
Today there are only capitalists and communists and there will never be a return to being, truly, a United States of America...
By every definition, the occupants of the WH and the non-GOP members of Congress are radical rousing Trotskyites...

Agreed. Liberals want to win. They don’t even understand the game/system they are playing but they want to dominate and win.
Like a panicked drowning person, they will drag and kill everyone down to die last! I will not save them or even attempt to. They are illogical, emotionally deviants. I want separated worlds. They want to rule, we want to live.
This critique is worthwhile, but it perpetuates the false presumption that current Leftists share “liberal values” with the rest of us.
Basic liberal values embraced by American Libertarians, and to a lesser extent Conservatives: Constitutional government with representative democracy; free and fair elections with broad suffrage; equal justice and the rule of law; free markets; extensive civil rights ensuring personal freedom and individualism; free competition among individuals with merit determining success; honesty, transparency, and fair dealing in government.
Today’s Leftists reject every bit of those values, and work tirelessly to vilify and destroy them. The Neo-Communists (the dominant strain of Democrats, Academics, and Media) are interested in taking power, and in effect enslaving everyone. Everything they do is a tactic to that end. Anachronistically conflating the Left with “Liberals” is dangerous.
One needs to know that a leftist understands and reacts to only three things:
1. Threats of violence
2. Violence
3. Death

I agree to a degree, it happens on both sides. Tribalism is a more civilized form of pack instinct, where you demonize the other tribe while deifying your own. But living in a truly civilized society means replacing those tribal instincts with more altruistic ones. Godless liberals have no source of higher morality than themselves, however. They bark like dogs and consider it equal to any kind of reasoning.
I have witnessed, since the summer of 1968, that ‘liberalism’ is that one step before the shoe comes down on the great dane’s blessing in your yard.

Leftists like Communism because it is a top-down planned economy, and they are arrogant enough to see themselves as members of the planning class.
