Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Friday that while Ukraine was not eager to have a dialogue with Russian President Vladimir Putin, his country has to face the reality that communication will likely be needed to end the war.
"There are things to discuss with the Russian leader. I'm not telling you that to me our people are eager to talk to him, but we have to face the realities of what we are living through," he said in an address.
"What do we want from this meeting … We want our lives back ... We want to reclaim the life of a sovereign country within its own territory," he said.
Zelenskyy noted that Russia did not seem to be ready for peace talks.

Ukraine’s economy is already collapsed, food lines and rationing reported even in their west, arms factories destroyed, railroad infrastructure destroyed, sea ports destroyed/ blockaded, fuel cut off, doesn’t sound like winning.
The Ukies are toast, no matter how much money we send them ( 10 percent to senile Joe and party), the quicker the Ukies grant the Donbass Russian regions their Independence, the quicker the war ends.

As long as the the Washington pols have a chance of squeezing more money out of the taxpayer, this farce will continue.
And, Biden (or whoever in the regime calling the shots on this war) and Boris Johnson do as well. They have been pushing Ukraine to fight to the last man.
Z should be working on a ceasefire deal while he still has something to trade ....starting point for negotiations likely to be current lines of control whenever that occurs. Z still has a tiny bit of Luhansk and a lot of Dontesk that he could give up maybe for a bit of Kharkov and getting to keep Odessa and Mykolav provinces..Z would be better off with ports than without them.

Zelensky just needs to say the magic words:
“Odessa and the rest of the sea-coast is yours. The Donbass and Eastern Ukraine are yours.”
Then the war can end quickly.
Or—he can wait until Russia seizes the same territory with loss of life on both sides.
Those are the only two options.
The degree of unreality about war in this usually sensible place is very concerning.
You have to oppose like with like.
Putting blue and yellow flags on your Facebook page, stars singing "Imagine" on a Zoom call, Congress sending money, Europe sending weapons (while Germany carefully weighs its options) - that is not in scope with mechanized armies ranging over the steppe with 8000 miles of physically connected rear area.
It's just not.
Our options were always Operation Reforger and free passage through Visegrad Group countries, or tell Zelensky to surrender.
That we didn't do either one is disgraceful.
Ukrainian soldiers are apparently leaving the battlefield. AZOV was the only group willing to fight.
The war is going much differently in Ukraine than it is on Twitter.
Next they’ll be telling mugging and rape victims not to fight back, but just to let it happen. If I thought people shouldn’t fight back when their homes, families, and lives were in danger I’d be a gun control supporting libtard. Sad that many good Freepers seem to think Putin is somehow America’s friend.
