Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky has said the Donbas region will be "Ukrainian again," although he admitted the situation in the eastern region of his country was "difficult."

In his nightly address on Friday, Zelensky said that Russian forces had concentrated their artillery and reserves in the region and that there have been "missile strikes and aircraft attacks—everything."

"We are protecting our land in the way that our current defense resources allow," he said according to a transcript on the presidential website. "We are doing everything to increase them. And we will increase them."

"If the occupiers think that Lyman or Severodonetsk will be theirs, they are wrong," he said, referring to the cities that Russian forces are trying to surround. "Donbas will be Ukrainian."

"Even if Russia brings destruction and suffering everywhere there, we will still rebuild every city and every community," he said, "there is and will be no alternative to our Ukrainian flags there."

“If we had the right leadership the Russians would be paying to rebuild Ukraine plus compensation for every Ukrainian life lost. Well.. if we had the right leadership the wouldn’t have happened in the first place.”

Bullsh!t.

No previous US President would be in this deep. There are NO US interests in Ukraine.

Additionally, this Russian invasion would have happened no matter who was president of the US...or Russia for that matter.

Not very likely. Putin’s forces have reverted to the hammering they gave to Hitler’s troops on the Eastern Front. Line up every arty piece you have and shout ,”FIRE”. Whatever is in the way gets blasted. Then you line up every piece of armor you have and yell “ CHARGE”. What was left gets flattened. Rissia is sending 60 year old T62s. There aren’t enough Javelins in our inventory to stop them. Right now Zelensky’s only hope is if enough Russian troops aren’t ready to die for the Rodina . If they are then I believe in spite of Ukie courage, NATO weapons, Russian blunders that Putin gets his dream, the entire Black Sea coadt all the way to Moldava.

They will rebuild - and spare no expense.

It will cost them nothing.

“If they are then I believe in spite of Ukie courage, NATO weapons, Russian blunders that Putin gets his dream, the entire Black Sea coadt all the way to Moldava.”

Correct.

And the Battle of Odessa will be the stuff of military legend for decades to come. Russia is doing what the US always believed is correct, but didn’t have the courage to pursue:

When military forces embed within populated cities, those forces are still legitimate targets under the rules of war...a nonsense construct to begin with. It’s likely Russia will surround Odessa with artillery and build new train track to the firing positions to keep the ammo coming.

Every tube can fire once per minute indefinitely. As few as 1,000 tubes can fire a million 152mm rounds in less than 18 hours.

I believe Russia will present Ukraine with that ultimatum in Odessa...once they have all forces in position later this summer.

Let us hope Ukraine surrenders Odessa.

US advisors should advise Zelensky from pissing into the wind ... it is not a wise or dry idea.

Ukraine without the Black Sea a just a big Austria without the scenert and the opera house. One reason I tjink they’ll fight. Putin will likely win but what he wins will look like Germany in 1945 and no Marshall Plan to rebuild.

...and the Mouse continues to Roar.

We could have taken $40 billion and bought off every politician and public officer in any given corrupt African nation, moved them out, then instituted a working government under US direction and thereby moved hundreds of thousands out of insane poverty.

Instead we’re just pissing it away on a bunch of leftist globalists who will use it to buy confiscated Russian yachts.

That would not work, because of genetic factors. That country would have a rush of fake prosperity, but after the money is gone it will look exactly as it was before. OK, there will be some remnants of grandeur poking above the slums, but thats it.

France and Poland and Belgium did this rebuilding twice in the 20th century. Germany and Russia (including Ukraine) once. Why do you think modern Ukraine cannot rebuild?

Absolutely they’re capable of rebuilding. They rebuild and we pour in money.

Problem is, they don’t want him back. He allowed those people in the Donbas to be under constant attack by those that couldn’t stand the idea of a multi cultural Ukraine. I doubt very many trust this nincompoop.

Yes they did. And Biden/Obama/Nuland reignited it.

No mind, they are off to disrupt and screw up Brazil to oust Bolsonero. Zelensky is dust in the wind.

Rissia is sending 60 year old T62s. There aren’t enough Javelins in our inventory to stop them.

More than 50,000 Javelin missiles and 12,000 CLUs are currently in service with the US armed forces and 19 allied nations. Javelin is expected to be operational with the US until 2050. The JV completed the first production of Javelin F-Model (FGM-148F) missile, which features a multi-purpose warhead, in May 2020.

The Javelins will, of course, help to stop the Russian tanks - but sh*tty Russian logistics will bear the brunt of the work.

Regards,
