The push for transforming single-family-home neighborhoods into dense, multi-income communities continues in California as the idyllic Alameda is being forced to add more than 5,000 new homes between 2023 and 2031.
The small island city currently has a population of 78,000 and residents were angry at a recent meeting to discuss the proposal, required by state law.

Out in the middle of nowhere, and the state gets it’s grubby
hands on their future.
Some of these fiefdoms created by one party rule, need to
be thinned.
They will complain and re-elect the sob’s.

How much did you pay for your one bedroom apartment?
$500,000
Fred gets his ‘affordable’ one bedroom for $360/month rent.
We moved out of the Bay Area last year to Placer county (employment keeps us in Cali). We were both born and raised and our children were raised there. The final straw was the building of 3,000 high density houses within 1 mile of our quiet tree-lines, idyllic street. It took me 45 mins to drive 3 miles from Campbell to my mother’s house in Los Gatos.
Embrace the suck.
They’re doing that here in Tennessee too. Not by decree but by developers who put McMansions on postage stamp lots. Just enough yard to be a headache but not enough to enjoy.
Might as well live in a condo.
Ignore them.

We're getting those here in Arizona, too. That, and apartment buildings that look like prisons.
Ugly architecture has won the day.
Paradise did go away in a fire.
I remember. My in laws looked at a house there. Dad didn’t like it so they moved near Placerville instead.

My in laws are in Placer County.
Beautiful country. Too bad it’s full of Californians.

So developers and their bought and paid for politicians have gotten rid of zoning that once protected single family home neighborhoods from becoming massive warrens housing ten times the number of residents.
It starts here. It’s coming to your state real soon. Remember that when you hear Republicans joining Democrats in singing the praises of massive legal immigration and why it’s good for you.
“Ugly architecture has won the day.”
The style is literally called “Brutalism”.
Loved by critics and hated by the public.
Tolkien would have recognized it as the work of Orcs.

Isn’t it UN Agenda 21 that calls for dense packed dwellings?
And isn’t this the reason BlackRock, Vanguard, and others are buying up single family homes hoping that the land will be rezoned to multifamily?
It’s apparently actually happening.
Paradise has ALREADY gone away GEEZE, these people are in denial!!!
California is a Sewer.
Because socialists turned it into that.
Thafs what they do. Every socialist controlled area and country turn into a garbage dump.
