Report: Police Handcuffed Mom as Shooter Was Still in Uvalde School; Dad Tased
Breitbart ^ | 26 May 2022 | JOEL B. POLLAK

Police on the scene during the school shooting in Uvalde, Texas, on Tuesday reportedly handcuffed a woman who wanted law enforcement to enter the building sooner, and used a Taser on a father who tried to pull his own son off a school bus.

The Wall Street Journal reported Thursday:

“The police were doing nothing,” said Angeli Rose Gomez, who after learning about the shooting drove 40 miles to Robb Elementary, where her children are in second and third grade. “They were just standing outside the fence. They weren’t going in there or running anywhere.”

Ms. Gomez, a farm supervisor, said that she was one of numerous parents waiting outside the school who began encouraging—first politely, and then with more urgency—police and other law enforcement to enter the school sooner. After a few minutes, she said, U.S. Marshals put her in handcuffs, telling her she was being arrested for actively intervening in an active investigation.

After the confrontation ended with [shooter Salvador] Ramos dead, school buses began to arrive to transport students from the school, according to Ms. Gomez. She said she saw police use a Taser on a local father who approached the bus to collect his child.

Thank goodness none of the law enforcement types got involved. The RATS needed this for the midterms. They don’t need a bunch of cops screwing up one of their mass shootings. They’ve been celebrating their asses off since the last bullet was fired. Damn the Demonrats. May they all burn in hell.

Don’t know all the facts yet, granted, but if it turns out that law enforcement waited outside for an hour or that they went in to get their kids that only makes people more likely to arm up.

If law enforcement decides to wait for an hour while some nut job shoots up a school what else is a parent supposed to do?

The cops probably saved many parents lives by not allowing any parents to enter the school. The shooter had no problem pulling the trigger on innocent people. You think he would have a problem killing a parent inside the school?

Uh huh. If those cops had a shred of honor or dignity they’d go home and suck start their pistols.

I like your way of objective observation and thinking...../s

Using your limited logic and lack of information, by all the MSM accounts and so called witnesses, Richard Jewell was guilty.......

Too many cops these days, including a couple of cousins who are Sgts in the NYPD will tell you that their first responsibility is to get home to their families at the end of shift. Luckily firefighters don’t follow that same line of thought.

“Probably saved many parent’s lives” - that has to be the slimiest comment so far - if it were my kids in the school - or even some other people’s kids, I’ve have gone in and God help any idiot who tried to stop me.

It’s better to die fighting than to let the innocent die alone.

” Luckily firefighters don’t follow that same line of thought.”

I’ve noticed as the years have gone by that all the ‘heroes’ are government employees.

I read somewhere that the town had only 16,000 residents.

That means very little tax base because it is apparently mostly working people.

That in turn means very little money for training cops and probably a third level chief.

So until the FBI or the sheriff’s department showed up, the cops probably had no real leadership or plan, making it a leadership problem rather than a failing of individual cops.

Just a guess. Time will tell.

The cops that sat around watching George Gloyd die are going to jail for years.

What is the difference when these cops sat on their hands while these kids were being killed? Not only did they do nothing, but they stopped people from helping.

Damn them!!

I agree if you have the resources to do so. You have a dedicated shooter barricaded, shooting at anyone who enters. The kids in that classroom were probably shot in the first 5 minutes or less of him entering the room. Seriously, just let more civilians enter the school to be slaughtered? Even in a combat situation, you don’t enter a live fire zone without support and being armed yourself. Now, when it comes to the cops, they had support and were armed, that is another situation I am not happy with.

“ The Police Spox confirmed it. I watched the segment.”

Fire them all. Strip them of their pensions. Sue them into bankruptcy.

I like the qualifier “civilians”. As in, not cops. If the cops can’t or won’t do the job, then they need to stay out of our way.

I have more qualifications than most: I’ve faced fire before, including rescuing a wounded fellow Marine in the open during intense fire. I got him to safety and I was badly wounded.

If I heard that there was an active shooter at our school, I’d have a good rifle with me and I would go in. I’m not stupid - I would enter on a side not covered by the shooter and approach from a direction he wasn’t covering. But I would get him or die in the process.

Damn shame that we have people drawing pay who won’t risk their precious lives for kids being slaughtered.

I have some sympathy with the cop who stopped the Dad removing his kid from the bus.

Those busses were taking kids to safety and to a place - the civic center - where they could be accounted for.

The head count would be very difficult if all the parents took their kids home. Time wasted looking for kids who were safe.

We know now that the carnage was confined to one room, but that was not the case on Tuesday.

Flame away.

I should have made myself clear. I wasn’t talking about the firefighters.
