Texas gubernatorial hopeful Robert Francis “Beto” O’Rourke (D) took the opportunity to inject himself during Governor Greg Abbott’s Wednesday press conference covering the Robb Elementary mass shooting in Uvalde.

Beto appears to wait until the governor’s remarks are complete before he stands in front of the stage to interrupt Lt. Governor Dan Patrick’s presentation. Patrick attempts to shut down the Democratic Party candidate for Governor, saying, “Excuse me, you’re out of line and an embarrassment.”

O’Rourke continued to talk over the Lt. Governor to address Governor Abbott. “You’re doing nothing,” the failed presidential and senatorial candidate said.

Uvalde Mayor Don McLaughlin was most vocal in trying to shout down the interruption. Texas Senator Ted Cruz can also be heard trying to hush Beto.

“He needs to get his ass out of here,” the Uvalde mayor said regarding the disruptive candidate. “Sir, you’re out of line! Sir, you’re out of line! Please leave this auditorium.”

“I can’t believe… you’re a sick son of a bitch,” the mayor continued, “that would come to an event like this to make political issues.”

Law enforcement officers surrounded O’Rourke and attempted to move him out of the arena. O’Rourke stopped again and attempted to address the governor.

“It’s on you,” O’Rourke said pointing at Abbott. McLaughlin responded, “It’s on assholes like you. Why don’t you get out of here?!”

Police finally escorted O’Rourke from the room where he carried out an impromptu press conference.

After dropping out of his failed presidential campaign, O’Rourke set his sights on the Governor’s Mansion in Austin and doubled down on his threat to take away certain guns, and bashed the State of Texas for passing constitutional carry.

Fast forward to the 2022 election cycle, where O’Rourke is slated to face off against the two-term Texas governor. The never-ending policy shift on O’Rourke’s thoughts on gun control took another turn when the candidate addressed a group of supporters in conservative East Texas and said he is “not interested in taking anything from anyone.”

Exactly what claim to Hispanic background does Robert Francis O’Rourke possess?

I’m just going to call him ‘Bob’, from now on - if I bother to refer to him again at all.

Hey, Beto-male! A tenaculum will take 59 million more lives than all the guns used for murder or self defense ever will.

I think it's because he wants folks to think that he gets a little “brown sugar” from time to time. IIRC “Beto” is Spanish for...ahem...

This is so much like a high school kid pulling off a stunt for attention-——the kid being one who is at a higher intellectual and maturity level than this Dem washout.

If Dems applaud this then they deserve him but we don’t.

What's wrong with Beto O'Rourke is that he's covering up a deep neurosis from growing up in a dysfunctional family caught up in border state drug cartel operations.

Various sites on the internets connect dots across the O'Rourke family that are not favorable to an electoral run. Many of the sites are of dubious pedigree, but even a review of Snopes contains the major threads that the dots are connected through. There are even newspaper clippings that prove that the basic factual incidents occurred, if not the imputed motives or dot connections.

The allegations are that:

  1. His father, a county judge in El Paso, was on the take. He was pulled over one night and drugs were found in his car. Police destroyed the evidence, claiming it was planted (see the newspaper clip linked above). Violent crime increased dramatically during his tenure as county judge, as evidenced by this local TV station report. Finally, he was killed in a suspicious hit-and-run accident, where he was run over by a pickup truck while bicycling.
  2. His now father-in-law William Sanders was involved in the secretive Paso Del Norte Group, which also held properties on the other side of the border in he Ciudad Juarez area of Mexico. Beto/Robert was a councilman in El Paso at the time that the Paso Del Norte Group was forming, and refused to recuse himself from city council proceedings involving the business.
  3. His mother ran a furniture store suspected of laundering cartel drug money. From Snopes, "In 2010, Charlotte's Inc., an El Paso furniture store company started by O'Rourke's grandmother in 1951, was convicted of "structuring transactions to evade reporting requirements," a tax-related felony. The company was charged as a corporate entity, but the Congressman's mother, Melissa O'Rourke, acted as its authorized representative... In total, Charlotte's and its employees illegally restructured $630,000 in payments, all from one customer, in this way between May 2005 and October 2006. The identity of that customer is not known.

Add to this his several DUI's, fleeing the scene of an accident, odd childhood poetry writings, and belonging to a teen computer hacking club, and it all paints a picture of someone who was crying out for help for his entire life.

However sympathetic one might be to someone coming from such an unhealthy upbringing, Robert O'Rourke is like a junior Hunter Biden, and should be kept far, far away from any government office of trust in the United States.

I'm just pointing out that he's a candidate for red flag laws.

Somebody has to do it, or the laws won't work.

Does this kind of grotesque, self-aggrandizing political stunt play well to anyone?

Bob isn’t exactly the sharpest knife in the drawer. He just tries whatever he thinks puts him front-and-center.

I doubt he really believes in anything at all. He’s not even good at faking conviction.

“IIRC “Beto” is Spanish for...ahem...”

The name, “Beto,” in Spanish is a shortened, “Roberto.”

Like saying, “Joe,” instead of, “Joseph.” ;-)

Well, when you see him next, ask Beano when he’s going to get his teeth fixed.

It’s not a good look.
