God forbid we have a red flag system...

There are kids who witnessed their friends and teacher getting shot in the face.

Those kids, and the entire community will be scarred for life.

Senseless tragedy that people are blaming on not having armed police on every school in America.

Red flags systems are a great idea — if you expect the civil authorities to be competent - and have due process. Let's take what might have happened in this case. Juvenile makes violent plans, gets caught & arrested. I have no problem with him getting red flagged in the NICS system; even though the juvenile record gets exposed. However, you can't have that as just one line of defense. Because that does not work if the one civil authority in question (a judge) fails to act. And, there are other ways of getting weapons if you have no respect for the law (and are planning to shoot up a bunch kids) So, defense is needed in depth. To include in your school security plan an armed response.
