Golden, Colo. — The scramble to ease escalating gasoline prices around the globe is an “exclamation point” for the worldwide need to transition to renewable energy, Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm told reporters on Wednesday.
“No one has ever weaponized access to the sun,” Granholm said, referring to the impacts the Russian invasion of Ukraine has had on oil. “No one has ever weaponized access to wind. The way we are energy secure is to build homegrown clean energy, and other countries are looking to that as well.”

California already experiencing blackouts during summer
months, but by golly let’s speed up that conversion to
electric to solve an issue that does not exist.
Natural gas burns very clean, and yet they are quickly
banning it in the state. Prices go up as it’s usage
goes down.
Incompetent coprophage imbecile.
These people are pathetic. We are currently fighting them at our electrical utility.
Where is the additional electrical generation capacity going to come from to charge up all these battery-powered electric vehicles?
The nation is constrained in every way from developing an adequate power grid even for today’s demands. Hydroelectric dams are being blown up, coal plants are being shut down, natural gas is kept in artificially limited supply, no new nuclear plants are being planned, let alone built, the ageing existing nuclear plants are being decommissioned, the wind and solar installations are notoriously unreliable.
No substitutes are being offered. Where do we turn? Begging for power sources from potential or very real enemies? Conserve? How much more can we conserve, with rolling brownouts and blackouts? Call someone and ask them to send over a couple hundred pounds of electricity? How about unicorn poop or rainbows?
Inquiring minds want to know.
Put American oil back in business and pump all we can. The market will come to embrace non petroleum alternatives when it makes sense economically and for clean energy. Build more nuclear generator plants. Thorium reactors are safe and scalable down- can be small enough to power an apartment building. The energy crisis is a case of the Progressives shooting us in the foot. The market unhampered by crybabies will solve the problems without converting the USA into Venezuela.
We have energy problems on the way soon according to what I am seeing & this woman wants to make it worse. Somebody should ask first if she can read & secondly why she is trying to make our energy situation worse. There are too many things that cannot be be done at this time with so-called “green energy” & who knows if it will even be remotely possible in the future. If we need an energy secretary, let’s at least get one who knows what they are doing & maybe even get this country back on an even keel with regards to what is already becoming a problem thanks to Biden’s present policies.
Good
Narrative to hide the fact that the dumb idiots have no idea what to do.
Renewable energy is dilute energy. You can’t run a modern economy on that. Maybe if you culled about 2/3rds of the world population... short of that, no way. That’s probably why the Davos types would like to see the USA and Russia nuke eachother.
Don’t look to the government for solutions. Government is there to make problems, break things, and harrass people.
You are going to have to figure out how to get along, on your own and with your friends and neighbors. The government will oppose you at every turn.
She right up there with cameltoe when it comes to smarts
We would have to lay down and put up absolutely no resistance, for these children to somehow become the new “energy gods”. These people not only cannot successfully deliver on their energy fantasies, but will actually destroy the world economy, and squander all their corrupt political power as a result. Idiots should not be aided, even in their own destruction. Shut them down!
Energy Expert Ms. San Mateo with her Communications degree explaining how the world works
But she cant tell you what a Kilowatt-hr is
There’s not enough sunny days in Ohio or pa. Etc. to support a large solar complex. just sayin’
By any means necessary with better ways of measuring for success.
