Liberal Senator's Dismissal of Link Between Mental Health and Mass Shootings Gives Dems' Game Plan Away

They love to talk about the issue but don’t want to solve it. That’s typical DC antics for you. That’s the political class and it cuts both ways. There was a tragic shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas yesterday afternoon. Nineteen students were killed along with two teachers. Salvador Ramos, 18, who committed this evil act was killed by a Border Patrol agent. Uvalde is a small border city. RIGHT NOW, we don’t know much about Ramos. He had no criminal history or had a mental health adjudication citation which would have prevented him from buying his two long guns. That could all change in the coming days as more details are revealed. If there is a mental health issue, then don’t be shocked. If there is none, then this is one of the rare instances where a mass shooter did not exhibit some form of mental illness. This isn’t just some National Rifle Association talking point. Left-wing publication Mother Jones analyzed mass shootings spanning decades and noted mental health is very much the common thread with the perpetrators. This isn’t a new piece either. Mother Jones published this back in 2012 after the Aurora shooting:

These lefties love to urge people to share their feelings and pay attention to mental health... except when it really matters.

"I don’t want to talk about the real problem or its solution because then I have no soapbox." Maybe somewhat unrelated, but I have been thinking a lot today about the Arnold movie "The Running Man" (with Richard Dawson as Damon Killian). If we were to fully confront mental illness with better family and teacher and peer intervention initiatives, along with improved security for all schools, indeed we would be taking away the Dem soapbox for banning guns. The other thing about this is that "The Running Man" was quite accurate in showing how real life of killing people becomes this sort of theatre for the Dems and their media and entertainment industry friends and this is what they do with mass tragedies like these that could be so easily prevented by the aforementioned ideas and initiatives.

They seem to think they have to give the history of the world before they get to the punch line. I think they are being trained to do this so that people will have to set eyes on the web page longer and catch the advertisement.
