The president of the NAACP on Tuesday called on lawmakers to take legislative action on gun rights in the wake of a shooting that killed 18 children in Texas, saying “Don’t just post a tweet, pass a bill.”
“There’s no statement. There are no words. I’m shattered for the community and frustrated by the lack of action by the government that should be working for the people,” NAACP President Derrick Johnson said in a statement on Tuesday.
Johnson also said lawmakers must act immediately.

Morons. As we all know, laws are only effective for law-abiding citizens. Mentally ill/criminals do not follow the law. So those of us who follow the law will get punished yet again. This is how delusional Democrats are: we have thousands and thousands of guns laws already - and one more will do it? Morons, totally bereft of reality. But passing another law will make them feel better and feel like they are doing something.

That is the political society we are in right now. Image and symbolism over substance. Yes, by all means pass laws that do noting, spend money that is a waste, set criminals free, cut the budgets of police departments, reinvent policing to send social workers instead of armed and trained police officers.
Thank God we have self-serving bought-and-paid-for politicians and professional affirmative-action bureaucratic parasites who can solve any problem by passing a law.
